In my head-canon, the redhead from the B-52s is the daughter of Miss Yvonne from Pee Wee’s Playhouse.

I hate when folk dunk on thinking Fahrenheit 451 was about censorship when “Bradbury said it was about illiteracy & TV”. When you release a work, you do release it. Audience interpretation is half the trick & if Author sees it different, either Author failed or actual magic happened.

I figured out the one way to not be angry all the time about America’s current political situation. Just be SAD all the time!

Religious conservatives seem to get my pragmatic liberalism a lot more than economic conservatives, more than stridently radical liberals too. They figure out I’m a full-on bleeding heart who doesn’t even wanna see anyone, even the bad guys, hurt & say “bless his weak heart” & move on.

I often see people post about how it’s not sex that they need but emotional/physical intimacy/support that they really need. And, like, there is much truth to that? But. WHY NOT BOTH.

There were times in my life where I accepted being made to feel like a last-ditch back-up plan because I hated myself so much, even being denigrated like that was better than not being a plan at all. No more.

I still don’t “get” the Weezer cover of “Africa”. It’s a note-for-note deeply respectful cover of a cheesy old song. If it’s an ironic cover, there are no grace notes of irony. If it’s a loving cover, there are no flourishes of the covering act. Is this some 5th level meta I don’t get?
