.) Whenever I hear the phrase “George RR Martin” spoken outloud, i think someone is agreeing with a pirate.

.) If someone is only with you in hopes of getting a diamond engagement ring, are you carbon dating?

.) Whenever you’re feeling really low, remember, at least you’re not a drunk grandma, trying and failing to heckle an improv show because she’s too drunk to even coherently heckle. There is lower to go!

.) In a sense, Bilbo was a first-draft version of his nephew, a sort of… proto-Baggins, if you will.

.) It was only years later, years after the idea would’ve had any cultural relevancy, did our hero realize he should’ve written a parody of the Eagles song “Desperado” about how sick we all were of the song “Despacito”.

.) 60% of heart is art and that is certainly the case with mine.

.) Half of why I wanted to learn piano was because that’s what my father played, the other half was how angry I was that the boys who played guitar always had the love of the girls I liked so I wanted to oppose them. I failed at piano, though, and became a writer.

.) Your relationship with yourself is as fraught as a subatomic particle. You can never know at the same time both where you are and how fast you’re going. By trying to observe yourself too closely, you risk overthinking and misreading your own worth.

.) Writer’s block is a lot like constipation. After a while, after all the more gentle attempts as resolution have failed, you need to just get in there with a pencil and work it out.
