.) If the staff of a Salvo knows you as “the guy who buys weird stuff” you must be doing something right.

.) In Hollywood they put your hands and feet in wet cement when they think you’ve done enough. In the mafia, the same.

.) Not so long ago, when you thought distant strangers could hear your thoughts they locked you away. Now when enough distant strangers can’t hear our every thought, it drives us insane. It’s progress, in a way.

.) When young, my two crushes were a polymath Renaissance girl who was forced for the sake of traditional femininity to pretend to be a shy hippie & a mysterious moody mercurial brilliant artistic genius… and it shaped kind of the women I’ve been chasing after ever since.

.) Covered your flaws over & over with white-out, hoping to hide & be new for someone else, again & again. Now here you are, a scratch ticket in full, hoping someone might rub all those old layers away & consider your long-hidden you the grand prize.

.) “Utica Club ” and “Ulcerative Colitis” both shorten down to “UC”, so they have something else in common, other than the horrible stomachaches and bloody stool they both cause.

.) When you’re little, you realize object permanence, that just because things leave your line of sight, that doesn’t mean they’re gone. When you get older, though, you realize object impermanence, that eventually it all will go away, even you.

.) It’s like “running for president in 2020” and “being cast in the Dune remake” are in a competition to see who can get to a million people first.

.) In real life, you’d find yourself rooting for the fighter to stay down instead of get up because, in real life, when he’s been beaten that badly and he gets up too soon, it doesn’t mean he’s going to win, it means he’s gonna get killed. Sometimes, know when to stay down.

.) “Quasimodo, Quasimodo,” Esmeralda feigned ignorance to the questioning guardsman, “I can’t place the name but it rings a bell.”

.) Trying to “defeat” your darkness will only give it a bigger home inside your head and trying to ignore it with only make you dwell upon it more, just as trying to not think “elephant” makes you think “elephant”. Note it but let it flow away, like a passing cloud.

.) A tattoo that reads “Only Anubis Can Judge Me” in hieroglyphics would be pretty cool.
