.) Every moment there is joy and horror and beauty and tedium and love and sleep and eating and confusion and want and pain and ecstasy happening, all over the world, in the various nodes of the human experience. You are just one of them.

.) When a public, especially political, figure says something that’s obviously racist but wouldn’t be in certain limited contexts that have nothing to do with the current context, that’s a bad-faith move called a “dogwhistle”. It’s plausible deniability for fascists, nothing more.

.) The most out-of-touch thing I’ve ever read, I just read in a bonappetit article: “Don’t have date syrup? Try pomegranate molasses.” I have never possessed or seen in anyone’s home possession either of those things.

.) REAL TALK: harmonizing on “Five Golden Rings” only stretches out the hell of the 12 Days of Christmas even further.

.) It’s still a dream of mine to hire a bunch of people to go to an Eminem show scream “WE LOVE YOU, MARKY MARK!” during a quiet moment and, if heckled, to start chanting “FEEL IT, FEEL IT!” at him.

.) There are kids in college born after The Simpsons stopped being great.

.) It’s so much easier to hurt than it is to help or to heal. A few unkind words, an itchy trigger finger, nothing easier. Malice proves nothing about your potency, it’s just cruel laziness. For a real proving, try and be kind.

.) If you haven’t had one of my brother’s vile “just throw all the veggies and fruits in the fridge in a blender” health drinks, you don’t know what the gag reflex can really accomplish.

.) Your BDSM dungeon will be concealed behind the front of an Italian sandwich shop called “Dom’s Subs”.

.) Just like God, they keep on saying that irony’s dead and, just like God as well, it keeps coming back three days later anyway.

.) The thing that’s been telling about the mourning of McCain is how it spells out clearly that the GOP higher-ups absolutely do hate Trump but absolutely do love all the horrors he’s committing so they’re stuck.

.) I have realized that the best insult for born-rich born-agains like Dubya is “trust-fundamentalists”.
