.) The bastards have you buffaloed, worrying on what’s possible, what’s in line with your ideological tribe, even what’s real. None of those matter in the long run. What matters is what’s humane. Empathy, not loyalty or stridency or even fact-checking, is what can save us yet.

.) If Cadet Bone Spurs throws his Hitler Youth rally in D.C. the only thing that’ll stop me from throwing my body in front of one of those tanks like Tienanmen Square is that I can’t afford the travel. Eat me, Trump, you racist rapist horror show.

.) Dad loved playing up concerns about the weather, marathoning The Weather Channel, worrying about the worst case scenarios. I wondered why I having a particular bad grief day, it’s because he’s not here to pretend the snow’s a lot worse than it actually is and… there’s an ache.

.) Felix hasn’t used a cat box in years but, like, let us see how this goes. It is too cold and snowy to let the little man out at night.

.) The line between being told that we had to accept the abuses of kings because they were “chosen by God” and being told we have to accept the abuses of the wealthy because they’re “job-creators” is as straight a line as has ever existed.

.) We’re not here to kill or to conquer, acquire or accrue, build or bulldoze. We’re here to ease each others’ pain. Don’t let the bastards tell you any different.

.) W admitting that Putin stole the election for The Admitted Rapist is a bit like the mobster in THE ROCKETEER saying “We’re criminals but we’re AMERICAN criminals!” Like “We subvert democracy but we only do it AMERICAN MADE!”

.) There are certainly funnier things and there are certainly sadder things but I’m not sure if there’s anything as equally funny and sad as watching someone quote Reichbart as if it is a credible news source and not the propaganda wing of the American Nazi party.

.) The realization that washing out of the entertainment industry because I’m bad at sucking up meant I’m not morally complicit with all the horrors coming out of Hollywood lately. Sometimes “failure” is really just dodging a bullet.
