.) Here’s something I am going to grumpy-old-man about: I miss when department stores had lunch counters, goddammit.
.) Of course the neo-Nazis don’t want to be publicly called neo-Nazis. They’re monsters, not idiots. Call them Nazis anyway. The struggle against fascists must be intersectional. You may not want to fight them as they’re not after your group yet but they will be.
.) Spider-Man was really really good. High B+? I always fill the projectionist in on all the Easter Eggs. If only Nerd were a marketable skill. Spider-Man was really really good but whenever I see Coney Island these days I get emotional about my brief time in NYC. The thing about the Marvel movies is you leave them feeling like you could be a power for good in the world, despite everything.
.) With how often God self-refers as “I Am” we are left with the strange but clear conclusion that God is Popeye.
.) You spend all this time trying to find your voice? Put in the work instead, your voice will probably find you.
.) Knowledge is not a static state. You’re an expert on things you’ve studied intently sure but that doesn’t make you “smart” about all things.
.) I think if I ever do a pop culture podcast, I won’t go with some overclever name and just call it “Unverified” and call it a day.
.) I’ll read an article about a magnet school and I’ll wonder “why didn’t The Insane Clown Posse go to one of those?”
.) ‘Super Sized Meals’ only failed because the name wasn’t right. They should’a gone with “Entree, The Giant”.
.) When The Real Estate Hulk flips a house, he really flips a house.
.) Considering they both walked in a stilted robotic manner, Frankenstein Delano Roosevelt would be an amazing mash-up.
