Official English Star Trek Beyond Trailer. in The Napkin.

Fancy that, I actually am aware of something for once. I’m amused as hell that the leaked german trailer, available just hours ago, caused Paramount to release the actual trailer.

My opinion still stands. Looks like mindless action shlock. The Star Wars trailer worked because it’s always been vapid epicness. This trailer fails for me because Star Trek isn’t a bunch of shit blowing up. If it puts asses in seats to continue the franchise, fine. But it isn’t Star Trek.

I will say that having this trailer with Star Wars is exactly the audience they need. Yes, that’s an insult. Less with Warsies, more with the kind of casual audience that would watch Star Wars.

Fun fact: My dad had no idea there was more than one Star Wars movie.
