If you say two things close enough together, the public will begin to associate them together, even if it isn’t true. It worked with Iraq and 9/11. The right is attempting to do the same with terrorism and Islam now.
Even Dubya got this right. I’m convinced Dubya wasn’t evil, he was just misguided due to false intelligence given to him. The right needed a fall guy, and he was it.

I am more worried about Turkey and Russia right now, and how Putin called NATO terrorists. "Terrorist" has become such a catch word, anyone can be labeled one now.

I really hope we aren't on the verge of WW3.

Mutually assured destruction negates that. Despite what the right says, Russia really isn't our enemy. And if terrorists had nukes, the middle east would probably disappear.

Yeah Bush makes the current crop look great. Rather horrifying really.

Don't quote me on this, but the democrats of now are the republicans of thirty years ago. Except for Bernie.

To me, it seems that the left stays so focused on accusing conservatives of not being able to distinguish between RADICAL Islam and Islam, because they know... And they hate...that it's time to act on a massive scale. Perhaps doing so goes against every fiber of their beings and that's understandable. But even Obama's rhetoric has finally begun to change, because... When peace loving heads come out of the sand, this problem has only multiplied.

I contemplated responding to this, but it's clear you're so far to the right that there's no point in trying to have a logical conversation. If you can't see how mindlessly bombing the middle east is a flawed philosophy, there's no hope for you.

No one mentioned mindlessly bombing. You'd prefer sitting and waiting for them to infect your city's water supply or a million other massive killings? Especially homosexuals, Christians...Jews? Right lets just reason with them. Let's apologize for diverse ideology. Because that will fix it. By the way, I don't identify as any party or religion to which you've automatically assumed. Propaganda, indeed.

You need to level up your trolling skillz.

I like you, Timmy Trademark. I'm good with you not understanding my opinions. Honestly, I'd just like to live in a world where we come together enough to protect ourselves and our children. It'd be different if the threats were empty, but they've proved otherwise. I like that you can come here and confidently express your beliefs. That's what it's all about. :) I've long been aware of you, here and at OD, and admire your fearlessness. I only wish you felt the same respect for me. I truly do question and try to understand other viewpoints.

"There will always be those who mean to do us harm. To stop them, we risk awakening the same evil within ourselves. Our first instinct is to seek revenge when those we love are taken from us. But that's not who we are..." - James Tiberius "perfect hair" Kirk
Terrorism has always existed. Heck, we were based on terrorism (see: Boston Tea Party.) But unless we begin to go full World Police and entirely sweep the middle east with a ground force like we did in WWII, our best bet is to LEAVE THESE PEOPLE ALONE. If we don't stick to our principles when they're challenged, then how moral are we?
