Diverting Calories from the Pantry to Tertiary Meal Allocation. in The Napkin.

So, I posited a wild theory that my cut might have been making me hangery and have hangxiety, despite not really feeling hungry. Like, rather than manifesting hunger, I was feeling gently more and more annoyed at nothing. According to my logs, I’ve been dropping nearly two pounds a week for the last 8 weeks or so.
By most standards, the red-line for weight loss on a cut.
So, I decided to allocate a smidge more calories this week. Ran the numbers on a pot of beans/rice/Rotel, and at around 1200 calories, that’s still less than half a pound of calories on the week.
(Pound is 3500 calories.)
Split a pot into four portions, and have been consuming as a bonus meal the day prior to my heavy lifting days.
And surprise, surprise, eating more has made me feel better. Sleep has improved. So I’m more rested, heartrate is calmer. Feel more zing in the gym, concurrent with reducing volume/sets.
I know, I’m being silly. Of course eating more would fix the low level mania I’ve been feeling. The slight decrease in my bullshit buffer.
Maybe it’s because I’m a damned former addict, but hunger is pretty easy for me to ignore. Easy compared to vodka. Is my hunger signal broken, or do people just have a goddamned food addiction?
Seriously, lurk on /r/loseit. You’d think food was crack. I fathom most of us have an iota of self-control. We just don’t give a shit most of the time. Because most of the time, it just doesn’t matter.
Eat the damn cookie.
It’s when you’re binge eating cookies, or eating cookies every day that you have a problem. So to speak.
But yeah. Pretty neat-o that I’m eating more and (still) losing weight.
In fact, one way for me to eat at maintenance, would be to do exactly as I’m doing now, and EAT MOAR CHEEZECAKE.
Sounds like a sweet deal to me!
