  1. My capacity for guilt is bottomless. I just felt guilty for not having heard of a celebrity who passed away. I saw people being moved by his work (I am not versed in recent pop/rap/R&B) and I felt guilty I was not similarly moved. Lapsed Catholicism is a hell of a drug.

  2. Soon, they’ll store our hair for genetic regeneration at the local Shavings and Clone.

  3. “Cleaning” is just purposely misplacing all your stuff so that other people can pretend the universe is an organized situation. Entropy rules the day and I’d rather know where my glasses are than pretend that order is winning.

  4. It’s not so much that you stop being able to learn new things as you age, it’s that this economic model doesn’t allow you the time as an adult. Lots of rich folks learn to paint in their “early retirement”, it’s just us serfs are too busy and tired.

  5. Don’t be disappointed that the snow didn’t come all at once but things still got cancelled. It’s a floating holiday, baby, it’s a liminal time. It’s Fool’s Day, everything is reversed, Saturnalia, kings serving the servants. The kids are out sledding. It is a beautiful fluke. Enjoy it.

  6. Maybe Grandma got run over by a reindeer because she saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus and she was gonna narc her daughter-in-law out as a cheater, putting her on Santa’s naughtiest list of them all.

  7. It’s not “a hairy little man-belly”, it’s “enhanced thermal shielding”, baby.

  8. A hip-hop Arthur Miller adaptation: “Def Salesman”.
