  1. It is our paramount moral obligation as humans to ease each others’ suffering. Not to possess or achieve or control, not even to explore or learn or have fun, even though those last few are nice when possible. We are here to minimize and mitigate each others’ pain.

  2. The only thing holding us back from Brunchables is the development of shelf-stable Capri Sun packs of hollandaise sauce.

  3. Trump’s new political news channel will, of course, be called Quibi-Anon.

  4. Populism is a sucker’s bet. On either side. On the right, it’s frothing fascism. On the left, it’s a desire to get good things done so rushed and so unilaterally that it’s doomed to collapse. Governance is for people reasoned, methodical and patient. That’s why I’m no politician, too.

  5. Democracy isn’t about finding a candidate perfect to your group’s ideology and lecturing others on how perfect that is. Democracy’s about gathering the consent of the governed to try and do as much good practically as you can. Many, it seems, just want an authoritarian messiah to push their agenda.

  6. People celebrating like they just got liberated from an authoritarian regime out there. Because they did.

  7. I like to believe that if Thad is short for Thaddeus then Chad is short for Chaddeus.

  8. You can’t always bake what you want but if you try sometime you just might find you bake what you knead.
