  1. The way the silver packets would sometimes yield to the straw and sometimes repel it, at random, was entirely capricious but shortening it to Capri Sun was more marketable than Capricious Sun.

  2. All I’m saying is, like, if I stumbled into a whole lot of money, I wouldn’t do awful things with it like a lot of these people. I wouldn’t build a multibillion dollar corporation on the backs of an exploited workforce. I’d build a perfect recreation of the house from ALF.

  3. On a long enough timeline, Michael Stipe and Moby will eventually be twins.

  4. Whenever I walk past the Mechanical Room in a building and it’s not full of robots, I gotta admit I’m disappointed.

  5. Money is a warped abstraction of the value of your labour, it is not your labour. Just because you didn’t make money doesn’t mean you didn’t create value. Often money is made creating negative societal value.

  6. Half the magic of writing is what the writer brings, the other half is what the reader creates in reaction. Too much ancillary universe building turns what should be a two-person dance where the author merely leads into writer dragging reader along by the hair.

  7. When I learned there are only two escalators in Wyoming, both in Casper, I realized I wanted to write a story about the only escalator repair-person in Wyoming.

  8. Trump is implicating Pence because he’s trying to get wackos to double-down on defending his high crimes out of the fear of a woman President. Which… is kind of a pattern with that jackass, huh?
