.) My biggest flaw as an improv comedian is hating silence. I sometimes roll over people with my ideas, not out of ego happily at least, but out of fear of my team feeling bad, I don’t want my teammates to feel like they’re bombing. I’m working on it.
.) You could definitely do a parody of Kool And The Gang’s “Celebration” about Pavlov’s dog.
.) “Spiro’s Gyros” would be a really weird name for a Greek restaurant.
.) Shaming politicians for getting into the system to learn how to change it, how to use it for good, is asinine from all sides. A well-intentioned outsider can often do more accidental damage than an intentional monster.
.) It’s weird when the lessons you’re learning from performance, work and grief counseling all line up and tell you the same thing about being in the moment, going with the moment and letting go, surrendering to the flow.
.) I’m the 1st in the world to listen closely to the lyrics of “Drops of Jupiter”, even the writer and… it might be the most trite inane string of words in creation. Name checking “tae bo” and “soy lattes”? Is that a put on?
.) I need to remind myself sometimes that “surrendering” to the universe isn’t exactly surrendering in the literal sense. I am part of the universe, the universe is part of me, I’m just… trying to let that false wall between what is myself and what is my self be erased.
.) Escapist entertainment is there so we channel our emotional weight into things that don’t exist instead of using it to change ourselves & in doing so changing the world. That’s what it’s there for, to hold the status quo both micro & macro. Challenge with your work instead.
