.) How many journalists are waiting for a big yogurt heist so they can run with the headline “Cultural Appropriation”?
.) We are moving toward the singularity where so many have declared for the 2020 Democratic nomination and so many have been cast in the Dune remake that, eventually, someone has to be both things.
.) They’re just making up new terms for full moons just so that people will freak-out and share them around social media, driving traffic and giving local radio people something to talk about. “Worm Moon.” WE’RE ONTO YOU, BIG HASHTAG.
.) If your parents named you Hailey and you don’t have an advice column called HAILEY’S COMMENT, you have squandered your potential.
.) Saying “Happy spring!” on March 20th in northern NY is like saying “Congratulations on your masters degree!” to someone on graduation day. It’s technically true, but there’s still 6 weeks of snow or 20 years of crippling debt to come.
.) I don’t keep my expectations of my pop-culture interests & teams I follow vanishingly-low to be a killjoy. I do it because all my desperate optimism is expended on my personal sphere. I’m all out by the time I get to the Mets or Orangemen.
.) The only explanation for the continued career of Harmony Korine is that someone very rich is playing a prank on him, letting him believe he is a filmmaker, and we can only pray that the rug will be pulled out from beneath him soon.
.) Some “plot holes” aren’t “plot holes” just potential paths not explored because that kind of story isn’t what the creator/s is/are telling. We think too much of stories as casual chains & not often enough as exploration of theme.
