.) Maximizing short-term profit without regard to your community is unpatriotic.

.) Pierce Brosnan should’ve played Paul in DUNE at some point because his first name is literally a killing word.

.) ACTUALLY, Leonard Nimoy played MISTER Spock. Modern pediatric psychology was the real Doctor Spock’s monster.

.) None of us asked for participation trophies. They were for parents to put on shelves, take pictures of, announce in local papers. It’s weird “participation trophies” are s’posed to be Gen-X damage when they were all about Boomers’ vicarious joy, not ours.

.) I’m a volume writer, I’m a volume performer, I write so much that occasionally I have to do something interesting, I perform so loud that you have to occasionally mistake it as talent. How do we do it? Volume, volume, pump up the volume.

.) Air conditioning and Netflix for the Black Lagoon, those are both understandable creature comforts.

.) Sitting down for Captain Marvel, one of my very few carbohydrate cheats is Swedish Fish at the movies. They were my father’s movie candy and I hold to the commission.

.) All the world’s knowledge in this handheld device yet I use it to tell weird jokes. Ah, but the world will always have that information, my jokes will only be here for so long. It’s the right call.

.) Everyone looks like someone else when you’re in the place where you are from. At least on distant shores, everyone is a stranger from the start.

.) That blinding transcendent light you shone when you were young is dimmer now but you have been burnished by other fires since too, you now know how to use without destroying yourself. And it’s needed now.

.) It went “Ernest Goes To Camp” “Ernest Saves Christmas” “Ernest Goes To Jail” and then, suddenly four movies in, it become “Ernest Scared Stupid” totally changing the tense of the verb and why does this bother me so much?

.) So many focus on the dichotomy in the Jesus story of mortal/divine but I think the paradox in trying to be both a warrior & a healer is far more interesting. You can’t always take down the bank with an ax & feed the hungry at the same time. Sometimes you must prioritize.
