It’s probably been close to a year since I updated. I was still following my bookmarks on here for a while, but see I’m about 500 entries behind! yikes. Anywhoozle, I will just do a year in review with pics!
January - February 2018
Nothing too notable. I was finishing up the community rotation of my dietetic internship and started the school nutrition portion. Which sucked. Cassidy made her 8th grade soccer team and I was barely able to go to any games because the school I was working with was 1.5 hours away. This was probably the roughest patch of the internship - Bradley was having to be Mr. Mom - doing all drop off and pick up for day care and getting Cassidy to and from soccer. I also hated working in School nutrition. It was the longest 8 weeks of my life.
March 2018
I was about halfway through my internship at this point - And began clinicals at an outpatient diabetes center. This was awesome! I loved it and my preceptor was super chill. Very laid back and stress free. I was starting to feel human again.
April 2018
I was now working in long term care (nursing homes). It was the most enjoyable and the least stress - despite a lot of traveling involved.
May - July 2018
I began working at the hospital in ICU/step-down/ and ortho. It was enjoyable but a lot of work and my preceptor was hardcore about my time so my days were very long plus a long commute. Despite being hella busy, I got to take the kids to visit my dad off the Gulf coast and went to my family reunion. Cassidy turned 14!!! Her attitude sucks 75% of the time, but that’s an entry for another day..
.
August 2018
I started my final clinical rotation in renal care! My preceptor was super chill so it was a very easy rotation.
Cassidy started high school :(
Also, me and Bradley celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary.
September 2018
Shiloh turned two!
I graduated from the dietetic internship program! It was so great having my family come up to Atlanta to see get awarded my pin! After 14 months I was finally eligible to sit for the board exam. At this point I was transitioning back into my regular job full time at WIC and begain studying for the exam.
I also through a massive surprise 60th birthday party for my mom and was with my brothers for the first time since our uncle died two years ago (one brother lives in Atlanta, one in Tampa, one in Los Angeles, and I’m in South Georgia). So it was nice finally having the whole family together.
October 2018
I passed my board exam and am now officially a registered and licensed dietitian!
Shiloh’s second Halloween!
November 2018
It was so nice being able to enjoy the holidays without the stress of prjects, studying, and working 60+ hours a week. I turned 32.. wahh wahhh…
December 2018
Christmas was awesome!
2018 was literally a blur. I spent 99% of my time and energy trying to get through clinicals and pass my board exam. Me and Bradley have been trying to conceive since November 2017 with no luck. I have had numerous ultrasounds and labs done to see what the problem is, but there is no problem? I can start on Clomid next cycle and Bradley has a order for a sperm analysis, but at this point I don’t know what I want to do. I am very dis-satisfied with my job right now. Since passing my board exam I have not received a pay raise and/or promotion. I am literally making half of what a dietitian should be making and it is very disheartening. There’s a lot more to update on and I will try to make it on to here more frequently!!!
