.) You think you gotta own all this stuff, you think you have to impress with all your stuff, no, you just gotta see it. All these people, all these wonders, you could see them all, hear it all, feel it all instead. Oh the places you’d go if you just didn’t have to own them.
.) LIFE HACK: having a problem folding fitted bed sheets? here’s a simple trick, don’t, wad ‘em up in the corner until you need them and spend your time doing something fun instead.
.) I don’t think that art springs from madness or vice-versa but I do think they show definite signs of co-morbidity. Oh, they show up together a lot but I don’t think there’s one-to-one causation like people want to believe as an excuse to let themselves go mad.
.) National identity is an occasionally-convenient legal fiction. Ain’t no gene assigning you to a part of Earth. We can live in space or at the South Pole with a little help, for Christ’s sake. You’re all just humans, babies. Start acting like it. Start treating each other like it.
.) Youth is railing on how bad the world is, how smart you think you are, how much you’d fix if you were just boss, how much you wanna burn the whole phony thing down. One day, you realize what is still good & just wanna make that last a little longer. That’s when you’ve grown up.
.) LIFE HACK: forget your winter scarf? don’t worry! buy a stick of gum at CVS, the receipt will fill in fine for even the most voluminous of scarves.
.) Your sports team being awful, godawful, transcendent awful, so bad it circles past good and returns again to bad awful, unwatchable awful, this is the universe telling you there are more important things to think about than sports right now.
.) I don’t know what the plot would be for a movie where zombies were an analogy for gentrification, I just know that it would be titled “Deadford–Stuyvesant”.
.) Taking pictures of the moon at night is wonderful but don’t forget to also look at the moon. Don’t just take pictures of it to brag about how pretty it looked for you. Actually look for a while at how gorgeous it is. It was put there for your eyes now, not a simulated echo later.
