.) Maybe raging against the dying of the light is missing the point. Maybe the idea is, sneak around in that growing darkness and start some new fires despite the dying instead.
.) You know what would be hilariously bad? Little Caesars trying to suck up to dead trends with a Lit Caesars campaign. Punch out a few letters, get Lit Caesar takin’ selfies or some such madness.
.) The best part of the resetting of the Star Wars canon is that, now, the Emperor has no clones.
.) The first mate leading a mutiny is shameless self-promotion.
.) Is “separate the art from the artist” a self-fulfilling kind of cultural Stockholm Syndrome allowing total bastards to dominate? There’s so much great art out there, look around a bit, you don’t havta support total bastards. Maybe the less awful people have something new to say.
.) In some ways, anxiety’s the equal-opposite to hallucination. Instead of things that aren’t there, you’re overwhelmed with everything that’s real all at once, in their worst-case scenarios, crushed by the weight of them all like an adventurer in a trap where the ceiling descends.
.) The consistent prophylactic application of realism is the best medicine for the emotional side-effects that come with inevitable regression to the mean, I suppose. Baseball teaches you things like that.
.) When facebook admits “yeah, we looked the other way from the Russian espionage trollfarms not because we were ignorant or not sophisticated, it’s that we didn’t want to ruin our bottom line when their allies seized power” that’s when I’ll start to believe facebook.
.) We don’t NEED to suck up to rural white racists in West Virginia and Iowa to get things done. We never did. All we ever had to do was unite as a pragmatic force of good and not be splintered by vanity candidates, purity purges and unrealistic implementation timelines.
.) The myth that rural white poverty is the “real America” or at least the “realest America” or the “most important America” is a myth that damns us from both ends. Made Bernie’s people naive, helped Trump’s monsters rise. A pragmatically intersectional America is the real America.
.) I don’t know much for Dragonballz but if you do, a parody of Evita about Vegeta would probably do well on the comic-con circuit.
.) The difference between “unseasonably cold” and “unreasonably cold” is razor-thin right now up here.
.) If you live a life with no regrets, that doesn’t mean you were strong or decisive or brave. It means you haven’t learned from anything. We change, we grow, we evolve and so does our world around us. Being ruled by regret is sub-optimal but some regret is healthy.
.) I like to believe that in the early scripts of Last Jedi, they were just called BIRD EWOKS and they just bulk pasted “Porg” over that phrase later, after someone lost a bet.
