.) Los Angeles taught me that if you must have heroes, at least have all your heroes be already dead so they can never do anything awful that’s new. Be your own hero if you can but if you can’t and you need them, make sure they are already in the cold cold ground.

.) Why doesn’t Bangor Maine change its name to Fangor every October?

.) Every time I read CK’s confession (it is not an apology) I read a very smart and desperate man trying to craft a situation where he takes as little of a hit as late as he can so that he can someday be “famous” again someday if only as “redemption/awareness” guy.

.) My uncle went to Vietnam. My mother’s father to Korea, my father’s father to the Battle of the Bulge and I’ve learned that the way we honour our troops is to only send them in harms way as a last option, not a first or tenth option. On the other hand, my Grandpa Cecconi probably killed more Nazis than he had fingers on his hands and I haven’t even punched one in the face yet but then again, there is sadly still time.

.) I always call cats “he” and dogs “she” if I don’t know the gender because it’s fun to mess with people’s biases in a small way that is not a direct confrontation.

.) I will admit an extra level of attraction to other tall humans. I have never significantly dated a tall woman and though surface attraction is only so much of a relationship, I gotta admit it would amplify that initial surface attraction.

.) Whenever someone calls drinking before going out to a bar “pre-gaming” be all like “you want to roll up our character sheets?” Mess with people in gentle ways, be at all times a benign trickster.

.) I love spiders but I love them more if they’re very far away. The same way that I love the sun.
