.) I want to believe some power put us here because we were uniquely prepared somehow to push back the darkness. But that’s an enormous faith. We always thought there was gonna be more time to fix things slowly, methodically, smoothly. Time’s up, I guess.

.) Something something police hoard of element 55 something something because it’s cesium. Ah hell. My heart isn’t in this.

.) They still should have called search engines “answering machines”. It’s… what they do.

.) Birds suddenly appear every time I come near because my pockets are full of birdseed. If you wanna be close to me you prob’ly like birdseed.

.) If you don’t marry the first person who’ll sleep with you, that’s very unsettling.

.) Your sci-fi themed British pub will be called Mars Bar, for what it’s worth. Your speed dating night would most certainly be called Mars Attracts.

.) Art does not come from suffering. There’s always great art. Art rooted in suffering tends to SELL but never mistake selling for greatness.

.) Remember when you were told the people of the Middle East were mostly good, just their gov’ts were hateful? Now you know how that feels.

.) Trump is more like Mussolini to Putin’s Hitler than Hitler himself. Italy soon discovered their hearts weren’t in it. This is my thin dark hope.

.) Even with horror bearing down, every day, we sit down to eat, we try to find love, we try to survive. Like in all the books but real, now.

.) Important to remember, the hatemongers really think they’re doing good things here. Some will recoil in horror when the machine starts. They really think The Other are absolute monsters, their God their tribal totems tell them so. Some’ll realize we’re not as we’re ground up. Be forward, be proud of yourself, every time one of us falls, is jailed, killed, two of them will realize we’re human. Some of us will fall. In aggregate, the minorities they’ve promised to oppress are a much much larger chunk than in past occurrences of this. It may matter maybe. In the end, our extant heterogeneity might eventually cause people to wake up and pull out of the darkness, after the early horrors, maybe.

.) They came here looking for a safe place. Away from oppression and war. Now… we’re the same. At least for a while.

.) If Trump doesn’t give them the mass immigrant deportations because business interests won’t let him, what happens then? What would they do?

.) Held LGBTQ friends crying in my arms at poetry tonight. Heard a teacher talk of students in Utica packing suitcases. This is the now.

.) Your band will be called The Faithless Electors for at least the next month.

.) The idea that God or aliens or magic would come down to save us here now is just another iteration of American exceptionalism, sadly.

.) Watching the Glenn Becks fret over what to do when their crazies don’t need them because they have their way, that’s a bit interesting.

.) The people who think Trump’s regime won’t hurt them but are just lower on the KKK’s hate list, Catholics, straight women, Jews, oh man. They’ll come for us, for you, in time due.

.) Translate King Crimson songs into Czech. Start a prague-rock band.

.) If someone mentions getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a sports journalist, yell “WHAT, THE FRICK” loudly.

.) We all want to fix this madness but it’s like we all fell from the Tower of Babel and speak different languages to each other in our trying.

.) “Can’t look political now if it would lose me sales,” some celebrities say silently under their breath. Igotmineinism.

.) When people say “Now you know how we felt about Obama!” we need a FALSE EQUIVALENCE gif to respond with.

.) It is amazing how hate-blind so many people got that people other than them were getting more rights at no deficit to their own.
