April 4th and 5th in 2016

So, yesterday, the fourth, I wrote an entry that I mislabeled as ending on the third. That having been said, so little happened that it’s not worth altering.
After arriving at the BOE at 8:30, I left at 11 to change into a kimono for the hanami. However, the hanami ended up being more or less canceled as it was raining. We had an indoor party, of sorts, from 12 to 2:30. It was fun ish. Not great, but not terrible. My kimono was a hit, but I couldn’t seem to get it to go on right for whatever dumb reason. Oh well. Then, back to the BOE. Kumei Sensei, Hirayama’s replacement, seems okay. It took me a while to adore Hirayama Sensei, so I’m not sure what to think yet. Add to that the fact that Kumei Sensei is super busy and there’s been inadequate exposure to form a meaningful opinion.
At 4:30, I left, as is the normal custom. Kumei Sensei was surprised that we left early. I don’t think he’s used to ALTs yet. We come late and leave early, but 40 hours a week is our schedule.
Upon getting home, I realized that I’d turned my computer off, and tried to turn it on. It did some massive scan which took hours. That gave me a bit of time to do other things. I practiced guitar for the first time in a long time (outside of the lesson, that is). I also did some errands. I got some stuff from the 100 Yen shop, including some dishes for my kokedama, these weird moss ball things with plants inside. I bought four in Tomarino at the Takenoko event. It felt nice to accomplish something.
At 5, I got a reminder to call the guy I met at the Italian place. Turns out it was my 24 hour reminder, so I made a slight ass of myself.
I continue to feel terrible. Not as bad, but still pretty lousy. That’s very frustrating for me. I hate being so barely functional. I ended up trying to get dinner at a little Izakaya, but it was closed, so, I ended up at this ramen place where Hirayama took Sam and me once. It was surprisingly good. I felt lousy going in, but food helped, and then chatting for an hour with the owner couple improved my mood.
I didn’t end up sleeping well last night, despite my intentions to do so. It’s very upsetting. I got up and came to work today (the 5th) and have done nothing of note or merit. I’ve got that ramen dinner tonight that I really want to skip, but can’t find a way to do so that sounds real. I mean, I’ve got a good reason: I’m in physical pain, I’m exhausted, and I’ve got school opening ceremonies tomorrow. I guess that I’ll use this is a nice excuse to get out early.
Lunch today was Waiwai with Sam. The garlic bread was amazing. We got back later than anticipated because the place was jam packed. Saw some students, and I adore them so much.
Nothing of any interest to report beyond that. Nothing of interest to report in general.
