If you say two things close enough together, the public will begin to associate them together, even if it isn’t true. It worked with Iraq and 9/11. The right is attempting to do the same with terrorism and Islam now.
Even Dubya got this right. I’m convinced Dubya wasn’t evil, he was just misguided due to false intelligence given to him. The right needed a fall guy, and he was it.
