At least with the key ones. It feels like I watched the season premiere or season finalé of some show, with a lot of key things happening off-screen. I seriously have had to google things at the beginning of some. “Wait, I thought those two were quarreling.” “Where is ___ now.”
If you need supplementary material to explain a movie, you’re doing something wrong.
Some of the plots felt so recycled. I mean, Tony Stark I and II are the same plot. I can’t even remember the names of most of the villains nor their motivations. I liked when the movies slowed down and had character moments.
But most of the action sequences are just video games. It’s for twelve year old cheeto-dusted hands. I zoned out a lot. Feeling “You know, if they kill each other, the movie is over.”
Yeah, that’s how my mind works.
I liked Ant-Man, in part because he has no idea what is going on. Therefore, as presented to the audience, it is assumed you have no idea what is going on. I seriously can’t remember the plotlines to any of the Thors, though I did like him as a character. I liked Thor VS Hulk, despite that not even being its name. At times, it felt like Chris Hemsworth was hamming it a little TOO much.
But, I suppose inconsistent acting is going to happen. Felt that from Zoe Saldana at times.
It’s…
For a franchise that makes a lot of money, it is oddly not easily accessible. Like I said, it’s like watching the season premiere or finalé of an ongoing series and missing all the key plot points in the middle. When did x and y become a couple? Who is she and am I supposed to know her? Where and when did he get a flying suit?
Guess that’s why I like the more origin story ones. Within reason. Captain Bananabutt was a decent movie.
I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking the roles of Civil War would be reversed. I thought tin man would be the “I’m not following the law” and Captain Bananabutt would side with the fuzz. Eh.
Still can’t get past the entire premise. You were taking orders from a shadow organization, and there’s issues with taking orders from ANOTHER shadow organization? Really guys?
I know, I know, turn my brain off.
A number of moments were ruined, not because of direct spoilers. But because some lines have been repeated to death in meme culture. So when I hear the origin, I go “…That’s it?”
Now seriously, who among you actually heard “it’s a trap” in star wars before it became a thing. I didn’t. And when it became a thing, I felt “..I don’t remember that line at all.”
I wasn’t expecting high entertainment. Of course not. I’ve been mostly entertained. I guess I kept hearing how everything is interconnected and… Eh. I don’t care about most of them. Like, the inclusion of spiderman in infinity war is clearly to have The Girl in the Red Dress effect. Or, in his case, the twink in the red dress.
Maybe it’s the over-the-top comical nature of it. Because only Antman actually made me feel things.
Go figure.
Yes, the same movie where a dude flies on ants.
After you’ve seen Thor get tossed around like a ragdoll, and later repeatedly punched in the face without a scratch, well.
You may not know when characters have plot-armor, but your brain does.
…Gosh, I fathom most of you haven’t seen all the Mr. Plinkett reviews. Ha ha. Now I can watch some of RLM’s half in the bags and they might make sense.
I’ve heard the Boba Fett series is trash. I’ve been avoiding it, because I just don’t understand why some dude who got two lines is somehow popular. Eh. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t. It’ll either be planned ignorance, or knowing so I can form an opinion.
