When they say “those who fight monsters risk becoming them”, it’s true, but I think it’s misunderstood. It’s not some kind of social contagion of contact that raises your risk, it’s the fighting. Fighting itself is addictive, even when it’s for a good cause, and we must watch ourselves. Monsters fight just to fight, that’s why they’re monsters. Don’t become them.

Regard public situations as outsider installation art. Applaud when you are entertained by their simulation of day to day tedium. They are so good at pretending to be deadened by the monotony. They are so good at pretending to be emptied out. Cheer. Cheer them on.

There are more wasteful or useless things to do with a plot of land than a golf course, I suppose, but you have to be willfully trying to make it happen. It is very very hard to make a space less beneficial to a community than a golf course on accident.

I swear to God, on Hallmark Movie Channel, there was a terrible romantic comedy named “You Bacon Me Crazy”. That’s clearly the worst title for a movie ever.
