I couldn’t get through more than 20 minutes of Picard (not awful, just boring) so a question: did they explain WHY they needed the labour of the Data-lite droids? Even for hazardous labour, like, wouldn’t one of the key challenges of a post-scarcity humanity/Federation be finding things for all the people to do? Why put all those resources into making robots when you could just make safety gear for people and, like, have something for those people to actually do?

Accepting how little control I have over the disastrous the world situation has allowed me to refocus on the little goods I can actually do in the world. No more than a half hour of news a day. It sounds like “giving up” but it’s really self-care so I can do good down the road.

It’s fair to say the party nominating process in presidential elections is archaic, convoluted & opaque. It’s ridiculous to say it’s “rigged” when the person you like didn’t dominate the way you wanted. It’s the more or less same thing it’s been since the late 1960s.
