Anxiously waiting for my husband to come back to the house today. I told my parents last night that we were separating. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was nice to feel very supported and loved. I then came home and started letting other family members know. I messaged them on Facebook to give them a heads up. I didn’t want them to see anything weird on his Facebook to make them wonder what was going on, since they are all friends on there.
I am still very hurt but it is nice to know I have a pretty big network of people that love and care about me no matter what. It’s not quite the same as having an intimate partner to share things with, but for now it will do.
The kids have been pretty resilient. I don’t know how it will go today once he comes back. I don’t know how long he’s staying before he moves out. I also have to tell him today that we need to get attorneys and possibly a mediator. I want us both to be fair to each other and the kids. Hopefully he will understand. I think he was hoping to just work things out with no lawyers involved. I just don’t want there to be any questions down the road. That way neither of us can go back on anything we have agreed upon.
In other news, I am down 5.2 lbs since January 2nd. All this stress has curbed my appetite. It’s been really easy to do intermittent fasting. Now to start eating a little healthier. I have to start to learn to cook for myself and two kids. Getting them to eat new things will be an adventure and probably not in a good way!
