Good morning/good day to all.

Weekend happened. It was… not one of my finer weekends.

But at least I maintain my spotless record of lawfulness which cannot be said for a larger number of people than I’m comfortable with! But that’s what keeps me employed. It is a strange place to be. On one hand… I would love to be in a place where people don’t actively delight in victimizing each other. On the other hand… I wouldn’t be able to command a salary as high as mine if the violent crime wasn’t so disproportionately high.

There are a few things I want to say about the Soleimani killing:
(1) Nobody, including Democrats critical of the move, thinks the world was a better place with Soleimani in it. The bullshit Conservative Narrative that “liberals are rooting for murderers like him” is inflammatory bullshit… but that’s what they’ve been doing too much of lately anyway.
(2) Previous presidents (of both parties) and/or members of their cabinet have discussed actions like this before. Almost all of them came to the same independent conclusion. “A strike on such a highly public high ranking figure would cause more chaos and destabilization and would act to put more American troops at risk.”
(3) I shouldn’t be surprised or disappointed… but I am. Several Trump supporters have been reacting to this news as though it were akin to calling Warren “Pocahontas.” And that seems… absolutely bloody insane to me! I honestly saw someone with middle-eastern relatives mention how this “scared her so much” and the response she received was some Trump-Douche saying, “Oh keep crying, you butthurt liberal. Your tears sustain me!” Like… are you fucking kidding me?!?! Whether you support this action by our government or not… fearing that an assassination might have extremely negative repercussions isn’t “a liberal deep state anti-trump pushback”… it is fucking reasonable. I’m not going to rush to say, “This will cause WWIII” but people worried about that aren’t necessarily being hysterical. And to react to people concerned about war or even added hostilities as though you “just totally trolled them with a dank meme, bro” is… horrifyingly juvenile and honestly feels insane. Like… I keep coming back to that word genuinely. Insane. When you’re reacting to “The assassination of a high ranking foreign military major general” as though it was “a funny dunk on lib-cucks”...... the only thing I can think is: Insane.
(4) What bothers me more than anything though? Trump has, not for the first time, threatened to order US Troops to commit war crimes. Remember when he said that he would order US Troops to kill family members of terrorists? And then everyone told him that was not just evil but a violation of the Geneva Convention. And then Trump started throwing immigrant children in cages (where they’ve been dying), and the UN said that was a Human Rights Violation… so the US removed its member from that board. Trump said that if Iran retaliates (which, no shit they’re going to retaliate!) he would order the troops to carry out attacks on “sites of significant cultural importance.” SO… openly admitting that you’d be targeting non-military targets? Yeah, that’s a war-crime. EVEN WORSE (you orange fuck)… how can you say you hate terrorists if your combat strategy is TO DO WHAT THE TERRORISTS DO?! Terrorists and Nazis. Those are the two groups we think of when we think “War on Cultural Sites”. If you order US Troops to target cultural sites… holy shit, fucker.

Now back to local matters. And the abundance of irresponsible gun owners being irresponsible assholes. 1 Neighbor gets pissed off that Other Neighbor doesn’t control their dog. The dog continues to come onto the 1 Neighbor’s land and dig, poop, hurt the yard. Other Neighbor refuses to do anything to keep the dog under control. 1 Neighbor allegedly killed the dog. Other Neighbor puts a screen shot of Google Maps on-line with ALL of 1 Neighbor’s contact information along with a post describing how 1 Neighbor “killed the family dog, is a piece of shit, and should experience the same kind of justice”. Both of these men approach their property lines with their guns in hand and scream/shout. Now police are called because the neighborhood doesn’t want gunshots.

Compared to what I had to deal with as I left work on Friday..... neighbors who hate each other, call the police anytime the other neighbor is outside (at all)… and have escalated their feud to physically attacking each other.

What. The. Fuck?!?!

How is it… that so many people… are straight up… UNABLE to leave other people alone?!?! Seriously! Like… granted… it would be AWESOME to have more friends… it would be AWESOME to get to know my neighbors better and have people in-town to hang out with, play cards, grab a beer, whatever. That’d be great. But being social doesn’t equate to being unable to leave other people alone! Like… even if I knew everything about everybody in this town and felt like every single inch of this town were “my domain”… I don’t think I’d intentionally wrap myself up in someone else’s drama or bullshit. People… just… leave each other alone. Act like grown ups. If someone is bothering you, don’t bother them back… you go out of your way to take the high road. If they keep bothering you, involve the police. That way… you’re above reproach and it is obvious and clear who is the problem. But as soon as you start bothering them back… as soon as it becomes a race to see who can low road the other most… if the police get involved… you’re both pieces of shit.
