Tonight is the solstice. The longest night of the year. The turning point between winter dark and bringing back the light of the sun.

Yule is beautiful in that it really is the turning point. While its not the pagan new year. It is a huge turning point for the world. We are going to slowly shed our old and bring on the new. When you think about it as a line in the sand. This is the point where you decide to change. And like the days growing longer every day, you too are growing every day.

Im pushing aside the sadness and the shadows. This is a new life for me. I may be alone and feeling quite alone. But like the world turning, the days getting longer. I too and changing and growing.

The midwinter feast reminds us to be grateful even in times of harsh winter or less due to the holidays. That we have a new chance with every day to make a change make a difference....

Today we are grateful for all that we have. Grateful to be, grateful to give. In a few days we will be faced with the impact of Christmas and the gifts that come.
But today we are grateful.

This was such an adorable poem. Ive never read it before. But its so perfect! and while yes, i know its a retelling of night before Christmas but its so cute! The night before Yuletide.
