Palmer Lake Snows in Tales of the Jointed Track

If you are on the extra board, you are shoving tonnage. It is mostly coal and grain. Maybe a heavy tonnage freight. Liked those heavy tonnage freights, a good boost, but again, problems, a double shove.. Ya get what you’re called for.

Helper Ed Ferris..Engineer Palmer Lake

I remember Ed Ferris, shoved up a Load. RED over Green, a train order..and? It is snowing, at Palmer Lake,CO like we know at Palmer Lake. There is a truck fouling main 2 or the northbound. The guy slid off the road and into the ditch area between the mains. Ed eases em to the guy. They, see a problem . They got out a drawbar chain, attached it to the truck frame. Ed told me it too, throttle 1 and a bunch of independent to keep from breaking the truck apart . It was pulled out like a loose tooth. The guy said “Wow, didn’t think, you could pull me out” Ed… “Well boosted up 15000 plus tons, you are no problem.”
