The wall adapter to my laptop has gone caput and the laptop itself will only hold about ten to fifteen minutes of a charge so yeah, here I am. I've got a lot to talk about.
So I ended up going to a bar the other night. No worries, I didn't drink. I got a text from a friend from high school named Krystal, yes, same spelling as the ex but not the ex. She said she was out with my ex from 2003 Jamie celebrating her divorce. When you are presented with the opportunity you take it. I have some sins I had to answer for, mostly the way I had treated her and the way we broke up where the last thing I told her, in her mother's house no less, "you can take your ultimatum and stick it up your ass, I'm out."
When I got there she was already half way drunk and Krystal left us at the table alone so she could get a drink. I used that as the perfect time to apologize for everything that had gone down. We ended up having a pretty good conversation after that. Even though the drunker she got she kept telling me she hated me but missed me. Even said that I was basically, "her first," and I apologized again as being the basis she probably used for every relationship after that. Bad thing is...she's not the first girl to tell me that. As I said, I've a lot of sins to answer for.
Now on to work.
I closed last. Got home a little after midnight. (Yes, even WITH having class at eight AM.) It would have been a lot sooner but alas, I had a flat tire when I left work and the gas station across the street (I was already in a...sad mood) had an, "Out of order," sign on the air pump. So I had to change a flat tire in the cold air WITH no less an Alabama state trooper and local cop in the same parking lot just watching me. You know...all they had to do was just pop out of their squad cars and asked if I needed any assistance. That's all. I wouldn't have been pissed.
Anyways, I'm getting off track. Before I clocked out I was checking next week's schedule. They've already added two new girls to the work force, more power to 'em. I had been asked all day if I'm showing up for my last day. I am. Well, when the boss asked as I was checking the schedule I retorted with, "yeah, as long as I get my cake." She replied with, "You'll have free food at the United Way cookout." The company does a once a year fundraiser drive for the United Way charity. What got me about this is...well...last week one of the girls who got hired back in December 2012 was quitting. They got her a card that was signed by everyone, including me, and the boss bought her a cake from the bakery department. When the boss said that to me it was almost like a punch in the stomach and a huge F U we don't care about you.
Note: The girl never did show up for her last day. Come to find out she had a major family problem (which I understand, we talked a lot) so that explains it.
From that moment on I formulated the plan into my mind. If I don't get AT LEAST a fucking goodbye card I'm taking the longest lunch break ever heard of and never coming back. She was there a little over a year and they rolled out the red carpet, right? FOUR FUCKING YEARS I've been there and I don't get shit? It's a respect issue is all.
To be perfectly honest...if I walk in there and don't get anything...I really won't be surprised.
Anyways, someone is about to sit next to me so it's best I end this.
