Day 1: Getting Back on the Fitness Track in Healthy Bites

Okay, it has been about two years since I have steadily exercise. What do I mean by "steady exercise?"

Two yeas ago, I used to work out four to six times a week...sometimes, even seven times a week. I don't want people to think I was obsessed with exercising because I was not. I was healthy active because I enjoyed exercise and the way it made me feel.

At first, it was rough, but it was worth it. I was quite successful and had gotten close to 150 lbs. Then, I got a job at the nearby K's Starbucks where I lived, and I slowly packed on the pounds again. At Starbucks, you are tasting drinks and pastries to see if certain combinations go together. Unfortunately, what happened was I packed on ten pounds doing that without exercising. It was very difficult to exercise because I was standing on my feet all day.

The job nearly destroyed my feet because I was standing and doing manual labor. Most likely, I didn't have the correct shoes. My feet did not recover from that even when I was hired full time as a GP assistant. I had to finally get some Dr. Shoals inserts....and use a tennis ball trick where you roll the tennis ball back and forth between the bridge of your feet so the heel can heal properly.

After several months, my feet finally got back to normal. Praise.

However, my exercise routine and keep tracking of my calories suffer. I gain an additional fifteen pounds.

So, I went from 150 pounds to 175 pounds...and I am up and down...but getting to 180 lbs.

I had promised myself I wouldn't get back to that weight. However, I allowed it to happen. And now, I have to start over again. Yet, this time, I am going to start slow...and ease back into it.

I will be doing my Jillian Michael DVDs, however, I decided to start off with lightweights. Typical lightweight for me in the past has been five lbs. However, I need to get in the routine of doing the workouts again. So, I brought 2lbs and 3lbs set of weight..and I will start with the easiest Jillian Michael's workout.

The only way I can gain success is that I get my ass up early in the morning to workout. I can't do it late when I get home because I am too tired by then to drive.

Also, when I was working out, I did public blogging and Facebooking to hold myself ACCOUNTABLE for what I did. In my case, it doesn't really matter how I eat or what I eat as long as I am very active. I was eating whatever I want, and I was still losing sizes. So, the working out component is extremely important to me and blogging about my progress is extremely important. If I put something in writing, I will usually DO IT. It's always worked like this for me.

So, here is the game plan.

Minimum workouts a week: Four Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Optional Workouts: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Workout Time: 4:00 a.m./4:30 a.m.

Diet:

Try to eat some type of breakfast Lunch Dinner

Sweets:

Work on making them awards instead of stress busters

Fluids: Drink about 120 oz of water a day

Okay, so, I am about to do my first workout now, and I will tell you how it went in an hour!

4/4:30 a.m. is the only way I can get a workout in. If I try to do it when I get home, by the time I shower and such, it will be 8 p.m. (I commute two hours, five days a week; one hour to get to work and one hour to return home). Besides that, I always like getting exercise out of the way. Plus, this will help me get to bed early and get a good night's sleep.

Oh I so need to start exercising as well! Good luck! 4am? Oof. You are an early riser!

Yeah, I have to...or it won't get done. I get home around 6:30 p.m./7:00 p.m. because of my commute. This is the only want to start again and get into a good routine with it.

hey, at least you'll have a feeling of enough hours in the day :) I always find if I sleep too late it feels like the day sneaks away on me.
