Ugly face, beautiful heart. in My this and that

I just realized I wrote an entry in the wrong "book". Oops. I don't know how to change it.

Today I am thankful that it is -16! Or that's what they said it was supposed to be this afternoon. Perhaps I can get some reading done on my walk home today. When it's too cold I don't even try.

Hating my face lately. It's REALLY broken out bad the last week or so. Not sure why, but it seems to just be getting worse. I kind of thought it might be the new vitamins I'm taking, but I started taking those less than a week ago... and this started before, so I'm not sure. Maybe it's the fact I've been eating extra amounts of popcorn? I've decided to give popcorn (my ultimate favourite food) for Lent, and so I've been eating it every single day before Lent starts to get my "fix". Lent starts Wednesday, so soon enough we will learn if that is the culprit. I will be quite sad if it is... because once Lent is over it would mean I would have to continue limiting my popcorn intake.

All in God's hands.

I just feel so ugly. Thankfully I know that beauty isn't just skin deep, and so long as the light of the Lord is shining through how my skin is reacting doesn't need to be a huge issue. I refuse to let the world's view of beauty get me down!

Words easier said than felt, but I'm determined.

This past weekend was a cold one. After getting home from work on Friday evening, we didn't leave the house for over 24 hours, which made me glad as it was very cold. Usually the cold doesn't bug me too much, but this winter seems to be lasting extra long.
So Ben and I relaxed a lot, and got some projects done, and we were productive and lazy and those are always my favourite weekends. On Saturday evening we met some friends at a restaurant for a birthday party. Ben and I both agreed that we weren't a fan of Barley Brothers and wouldn't return. Afterwards we had some good conversation at Kaylee and Jason's as we continued the celebration. Sunday morning we visited a church in a town nearby as a friend was being baptised there! SO EXCITING! The service was excellent! And after we went for lunch at Smitty's with Josh and Marissa (the girl who was baptised), and we had a lovely time.

They want me to go to Drop In tonight with Ben so we can play games. I kind of want to hide under the covers so the world can't see my face (ya... what I said earlier is taking a while to sink in). I will probably go anyway. I can't resist a fun time.

Currently I am debating about going to the YFC volunteer retreat that is held every year. I went last year, after much apprehension, and had a blast! It was so much fun! But this year there are no "couples" rooms, so that means Ben and I will have to sleep in separate rooms... and I don't really know anyone there... and that just sounds like heaps less fun. sigh... but it's a free weekend away... and it was fun last year... I guess worse comes to worse I just bring a good book and get some reading done.
