Another heat filled day in Bittersweet

I was once told that Alaska doesnt get over 80 degrees. Well today folks. it was 95 outside and 86 inside.
come to look now, at 9 pm, Its 84 inside and 75 outside lol! It takes hours for the house to cool down.
Summer comes fast hard and short. We have 3 months of “summer” but of that only half is hot days like this. Its been a week so far and another week ahead of us of foretasted for high 70s, Which outside of their temperature gauges being right now the inlet and MILES from people. translates into 10-15 degrees warmer then they guess.
Today we stayed inside. Nope, didnt do anything. We pretty much stayed inside hiding from the sun. Tomorrow the kids want to go back to a swimming hole and i need to pick up a package. I figure i can work on my hat patterns and the kids can swim. I just hate that there is NO SHADE! At least seeing its a work day, the parking lot shouldent be filled to hell and back! ust more moms who are willing to pay the 5 dollar fee to park there. Not me, i have a state park pass, but unless you do, its 5 bucks to park haha. Probably a good thing. less tweekers and drug users seeing the camp host walked the parking lot every 5 minutes.

Still havent started soap. Too hot during daylight hours!

had a few extremely disheartened moments today where politics got front and center. People got ugly. I got upset. So again reminded why i hate people that obsess over it. They get so absolutely UGLY!

Dinner was a flop today. Again, so hot it hurt to cook. I almost wish AC was a thing here. Other then our fans lol. Never enough.

My oils are nearly ready to strain and mash and set to storage. The heat has been cooking them. I even left one in the car lol! The mint inside is nearly colorless! It dosent take long when your house is blazing hot and outside is even hotter. Unfortunately i didnt get to picking some of the flowers i wanted. And most of my lilacs went to waste. I ran out of jars and havent enough money to pick more up till the first. I only hope my roses keep blooming just a bit longer so i can get them in some oil for the yummy smelly oil! I really want to make a body butter with it!

Ok rambling done. I need to go do bunny chores. Somebunnies are very hungry somewhere in my yard! Times 30 :)
