gets political. mentions murder, gun violence, Stonewall and why we have. and need. Pride. that’s right i said it. us. myself included. um. on LGBTQ history.........
homophobia, straight pride parades. mentions homophobia doesn’t bash. that part might offend some depending a person’s views

first of all. happy Pride and good Pride. i hope. please be careful for those going. i’m not for various reasons.
btw. i recently came out to my mom. on fri. i don’t want to talk about this right now. not cause it didn’t go well no it did. just cause. all this Pride stuff in the news is so much right now.
um. so i on twitter. tweeted what i thought was this really powerful opinion piece. about Pride, and the dc pride panic. and the nao nazi pride thing. and then i posted it on fb:

‘ it’s Pride. not gun violence month. no this isn’t a joke. i’m saying. no i’m saying. there should never. be gun violence. this was the whole point. of Stonewall almost 50 years ago. do you get that? #DCPride again. the patrons, at the Stonewall Inn. fought back against the police. so that future generations. could be ok. in fact i went to a show on Stonewall earlier. [yesterday.]. and ya know.........ya know what. it was beautiful. and moving. and sad. and emotional. and probably one of the most. imperitive things i’ve ever been to, as of late.

1970 the first Pride parade at least in new york. in 1978 Harvey Milk, a gay politician, was shot. in 1993 Brandon Teena was fatally shot. due to the fact that. he [it is ‘he’ right?] was a trans man. simply. for that reason. in 1998. Matthew Shepherd was murdered. bc. he was gay. 2016 the Pulse night club shootings. and this is just in the u.s. and this year .... recently there was a news story about. a couple on a london bus. actually no i had that wrong. so. just this past week - er last actually - in london. there was. a homophobic attack. on a gay couple. the attack. took place on a bus. details aside. i’m not saying this so people will be sad. i’m saying this so that. people. will understand why there is Pride and why we need it and why. these things never should’ve happened.
i’m not out to everyone. yeah and that’s a reason why.

well regardless of whether someone’s out or not. even if it was false. #DCPride that’s not the issue the issue is that. no one in the LGBTQ+ comm. should ever. feel this way. their sexuality isn’t their fault and they’re not doing anything wrong. ya know what? you can’t fix us. bc we again. are. not. broken. btw colorado, the state where i live. recently banned conversion therapy and thank god. and no i won’t stop talking about this. bc i can’t. bc i shouldn’t. i’m steppin up i’ve been steppin up for a long time. LGBTQ+ people just want to live their lives. like ya know, every other human. look. for us. it is really hard being a member of this comm. so. yeah and all the history is partially why. so if we find some way to enjoy where we’re at and our lives. all the better. don’t rain on our parade. please don’t rain on our parade. don’t attack us for who we are. that should never happen. and i’m so sorry it does and it has. at all.

this is our month.
we could be heroes just for one day - david bowie. and you could be queen.’ < feel free to have the above btw. but please give credit.

oh here’s something else i posted:

‘ Take Back The Night man. take back the night. yes that was started in Rome in the 1970’s. yes it has to do w/ women and sexual violence. the concept behind that was that. every. single. woman has the right. as much right. to walk at night as any man does. yes. yes now in terms of Pride.......... by having Pride parades. we are. taking back the night of june 28, 1969. we are. taking back the “night”, as it were. harvey milk was shot. brandon teena was murdered. matthew shepherd was murdered. the pulse shootings. and so on. so yes. we are taking back. every. single. one of those nights. of those moments. and saying. this is our world man. this is our world. we are singing. after the circus tent fire. [‘greatest showman’ ref. but it applies.]. we are celebrating. as. as we should be. cause yeah. this is us. we are who we are. and if we want to add feathers. or spangles. and more mascara or not at all. that is ok. and we will be birds. cause birds are free man. and i hope we can all feel that way. watch out world. here we come. here we are. and we’re going to stay.
down this road. we’ve been travellin lost so many on the way .......and a voice askin why i pray the answer’s above us. i know where i’ve been. credit goes to ‘hairspray’. sorry mixed lyrics there. but the point being. we do know where we’re going. and we do know where we’ve been
and by. having the Pride parades we are peacefully protesting. which we have the right to do in fact it’s in the constitution far as i’mm aware. or maybe the bill of rights? anyway the point is. people have the right to bear arms as well. which. i just looked up so i’d actually know what i was talking about. yes as a means of defense..........not to just randomly murder someone.’.

for all those. traumatised by the DCPride panic and the Neo Nazi Pride thing: i hope yall are doing ok. if not i’m here. even just in spirit......even. if we’ve never met. as are others. i love you. as people. i will always. be proLGBTQ+. and accepting. never forget these words. ok?

there’s more but. i’m tired so.
