The Face of Death in Poetry

You swallowed me up
And spit me out
You watch me crawl
As I slowly withered away
And at that moment
I never thought I’d ask
Would anyone care if I died?
A lack of hope
As I was pierced
By a thousand needles
From the inside
While I was in purgatory
A place where you are forgotten
And no one remembers your name
I’ve stared at death
So long
That I welcome
His beautiful smile
For I know
Those blackhole eyes
Are curious about my soul
Oh death
Strap me down
And slowly cut
All of my veins
I want you to watch me
Bleed my pain for free
So you know that it didn’t cost me anything
