What a weekend :/
Friend came over. Took the dog a long time to get used to him. Wife and I took turns with the dog going out, for walks, and all that. Friend and I tried to talk… Wife was actually getting in the way with that. As she was feeling trapped in the house, she kind of bulldozed the conversation.
She took care of the dog late on Friday/early on Saturday. Then it was almost 100% on me (since Wife was going to game). It went well! No accidents, taught the dog “sit”, taught the dog how to use stairs. She did awesome. Until Wife came home and the Nala peed on the floor.
Today? Today has been irritating as hell. Dog peed in the house, vomited in the house, pooped in the garage, and has been SUPER irritating by begging to go out… going out… eating grass, leaves, sticks… anything she SHOULDN’T be eating… not using the potty… and not eating the food in her bowl. And about 78% of the time she indicates at the back door, Wife calls for me to take the dog out. I mean… Wife, who is BY the door and just watching her tablet… as opposed to me, with my friend here.
I know, I know. Big ol’ “I told you so” moment for a lot of you. Selfish, spoiled, and shortsighted. But then… we’re still in the PRE Vet/Training/Fence days. So Wife feeling negative feelings is being consumed by those negative feelings. Meanwhile, as always, my anger and frustration drive me forward to fix things. Call City Zoning Rep to review our Fence needs and concerns. Vet on Friday. Trainer on the 20th.
If we can get to a point where the dog doesn’t need to be constantly watched, everyone in this house will be happier. Provided that she doesn’t have to take CARE of the dog and can just be there loving on the dog, she is a much happier, more compassionate, and more loving woman. And if the dog doesn’t need to be constantly watched, I can get back to doing things like Video Games, Reading, Working at Home.
The dog isn’t a problem it is just a lot of work right now.
