Last night, I drove home and left the garage door open, as I do when it is a Workout Night. However, after getting her feelings out in her PB Journal, my Wife was not in a good headspace to go workout and asked that we postpone. I agreed (it was Shrove Tuesday after all) but forgot to close the garage door. So that bitch was still open this morning! Damn.
I’m sure Wife allowed it/wanted it because of her headspace but we drank last night. I drank too much and spilled in the basement (second time in 6 days!) I drank because, again, Shrove Tuesday. We might not be Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street here in the frozen hinterlands of Iowa; but we can still celebrate.

Of course, that meant that I did not want to get up this morning. Well… part of me didn’t want to get up. If you catch my not so subtle drift. So I lumbered out of bed a full 90 minutes after I normally would have. Went to the bathroom, scrolled up some video to help take care of my… I’ll say… demanding lower member.... and finished. Got in the shower. Yada yada yada, I got to work around 8:30. Still okay, though, because apparently one of the last Full Time Assistant County Attorneys used to “stroll in” around 2:00 p.m. I just… I don’t get that. This wasn’t a theoretical boomer invented “Millennial who’d never worked before”. This was a full grown adult who is older than I am. And these people say my generation has no work ethic! Then again… I suppose my own background may be unique… but still. If you have a full time position serving the people of your community; have some damned professionalism and work ethic.

THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POTENTIALLY GRAPHIC CONTENT OF A SEXUAL NATURE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SKIP TEXT OF A POTENTIALLY SEXUAL NATURE, PLEASE SKIP THE FOLLOWING.

Con su permisso, I wanted to just investigate a little about my video selection this morning as I am always curious about “what works” and when. Especially if something different than usual happens.
My pornographic preferences skew almost exclusively to POV or Solo. I don’t require a man’s face or even a man’s body in my “Good Time Viewing” thank you very much.
Typically, this POV viewing has trended toward faux incest. I highlight the FAUX strongly here because for me, the attraction isn’t so much the Taboo Nature of the thing but the pre-existing relationship.... the pretense that there is already a history of support, emotional connection, trust… yeah, who would have thunk that the kid whose only had sex with his wife would place “emotional context” into his pornography habit? Anyway, this category rarely requires any specific mode of dress, apparel, or specific look; so there is often a great deal of variety. That being said, I’m fairly classic in what I prefer, and this morning I went for a POV starring a dark haired woman wearing glasses attired in a black blouse, green long skirt, and black heels. Under the skirt was a pair of black nylon stockings attached to a garter and lacy black underwear. Everything about that should do it for me. And, in its way, I suppose it did. But here’s where it gets interesting… to use the term loosely. It wasn’t enough. The video primarily featured the woman giving oral sex and ended with about 60 seconds of doggy style vaginal sex. Perhaps it is because it has been so very long since I received oral sex (over 15 years) but Oral Sex vid doesn’t really do much for me. And frankly, this is true, not seeing the woman’s face during the sex portion… again, doesn’t do much for me. So this particular video was… surprisingly a let down. Excellent start; great model with a great outfit. But the action was… less than desired.

What actually did the trick? Same model, POV still, but she was in a coral colored nighty having phone sex with someone. However, she was actually doing all the things she was describing. So it was sex with the POV filmer while describing that sex over the phone. THAT did it. As I’ve said, I’m very into verbal. That plus the entire thing was sex (not oral) and was ‘head on’ (meaning the view was always the woman’s chest and/or face) that was what I needed.

I just find those things interesting. What works, what doesn’t. When will “a sexy written story” be enough versus needing “an audio story” versus needing full on video.

I apologize to anyone who found the preceding disturbing, gross, inappropriate, unnecessary, or unnecessarily informative.

I did want to say this because it certainly has the potential to be meaningful. I was stuck in a line in my car this morning and I felt myself start to get a little upset. Not much but just enough to make me think. So I stopped. I didn’t get upset. Instead, I just kind of sat with my “I’m here. I can’t move forward or go backwards. I’m here.” And I realized that I haven’t actually just… sat… in a long time. I’ve been so wrapped up in being busy (again) that I haven’t intentionally just stopped taken a breath, poked my head out from whatever I’m doing, and just appreciate the moment. I should remember to do that more. If all we are is doing we forget about being.

Wife has individual therapy today. I really hope she’ll take some of what we’ve talked about, some of what she wrote about, and a lot of what has been going on into that therapy session. Who knows? No guarantees. But she is definitely panicking again because she is definitely realizing it is time for HER to DO SOMETHING about HER life.

How do I know? One of the things she said to me last night… one of the FIRST things she said to me last night? “I love this house, but I don’t want to stay here forever. We need to go someplace with more opportunities. Some place that has five digits in its population numbers.” Instead of saying, “I understand” or something like that, I turned it around and immediately called her out on it.
(1) Omaha had millions of opportunities and was a population of over 466,000 people. And she hated it and refused to look into any opportunities.
(2) Des Moines had thousands of opportunities and was a population of over 217,000 people. And the one time she looked into any opportunities there; she freaked out hard core and had to be aggressively convinced to keep going.
(3) We’ve been in IF for approximately 4 months. Of those months, all of them have been wintery. Hell, 2 of those months broke Cold and Snow records. I don’t even know the names of our neighbors yet. Wife hasn’t even looked into the opportunities that may or may not exist in this area.

Luckily, she didn’t get upset. She didn’t throw a tantrum. She had actually anticipated that I would say something like that. And she agreed. She accepted that statement and agreed.
Here’s where I get somewhat confused
She had anticipated me saying those things and she agrees with them… so why did she say what she did in the first place? I’m not criticizing, I understand the need to ask questions simply to verify what you already know (hell, I’m an Attorney who received special recognition for Litigation in law school… asking questions I already know the answer to is a living for me). I just want to know why she said what she did so I can understand my wife better.

If she knew and accepted that she had been Opportunity Averse in areas where opportunities were plentiful… if she knew and accepted that she had not sought Opportunity where she currently is… why state that she was already in a headspace to move? Especially knowing that I am invested in staying here long haul?

So, I don’t know if I wrote out my prediction for the story of the newest Mortal Kombat game or not. I hope I did. I hope I wrote it all down and posted it on the World Wide Web so that I can back this statement up:

The official Story Trailer has been released. And my predictions were almost completely spot, fucking, on. I remember seeing Kronica in the reveal trailer, she had an hour glass with the sand travelling upwards. We saw a pre-modern storyline Liu Kang and Kung Lao. We saw a modern storyline Dark Raiden. FROM THAT, I extrapolated that the new story would be about Raiden’s interference in the timeline… how a power (Kronica) would come and try to merge timelines to create a One Unified Timeline. I also mentioned that Liu Kang as current Lord of the Netherealm would likely be a big factor in all of this. As past-Liu “Champion of Earthrealm” would be interesting to put up against current-Liu “Lord of the Netherealm”.

Then a few months later, we see the first cinematic of the story mode. Raiden beheads Shinnok. Kronica appears. Bitches about Raiden fucking up the timeline. End cinematic. I felt… pretty solid that my theory was confirmed from that.

With today’s release of the official story trailer? Dude… I really should go back and try to see if/where I wrote out my predictions.... because I’m fairly certain I bloody nailed the entire storyline.

Here’s something I’m changing up for today. The Cracked Articles I read today actually did inspire response from me. So I’ll link the articles, lay out their points and then respond with my discussion. I’ve been doing it a bit in other entries but I’m going “whole hog” on it today.

5 Films That Accidentally Made The Villain The Nicest Person
5: The Soviets Flew Rocky’s Wife To Russia Just So She Could Support Him
4: Bane Kept Gotham City Super Clean
3: Cruella De Vil Tried To Protect Her Protege’s Career
2: In Major League, Hiring Obscure Players And Then Releasing Them Would Help Their Careers
1: The Bad Guy’s Plan In Last Action Hero Would Have Brought Peace To Countless Universes

Item number five doesn’t bare a lot of reflection to me. Honestly, it is a moot point in the grand scheme of the film. The important part of Rocky IV (in my mind, one of the best in the franchise) is the training montage itself. Because it is almost literally dripping with “America is Hard Work, Soviet is Cheating” imagery. It’s just a giant American Flag wrapped in bacon. BUT HERE is what I want to say to refute Spencer Thew’s claim: Mr. Thew suggests that the Soviets flew Mrs. Balboa out to Rocky as a kindness, a good gesture, something that makes them seem less evil. Unless you figure that alone, in Siberia, with almost nothing… sending the Wife to surprise her training husband could be, I don’t know, A DISTRACTION. Cuz that’s actually what I assumed when I saw the movie. I assumed that the Soviets thought, “We send in Wife. She distracts fighter, he can’t train as well. We win even faster.” AND THE TWIST IS Adrian makes Rocky stronger, better, faster, more dedicated thus thwarting their plan. The theme being “In Soviet Russia, Wife is liability. In America, Wife is advantage.”

Item number four is… well, someday I’ll write an entire article titled “Unpopular Opinion: Why Nolan’s Batman-verse is worse for being so ‘close but not quite”. Until then though, I’ll leave you with my response to this. Movie Bane is no, never was, and has no conceivable resemblance to Comic Book Bane. To the point of offense. They are culturally different with massively different motives and massively different personalities. And I’m still upset that they made the HISPANIC TORTURED SERIAL KILLER into a garbled based-on-a-Welsh-Bareknuckle-Boxer League of Shadows reject. Sorry, SPOILERS. But then, that’s kind of the point I think Mr. Thew forgets here. Is that Bane, in the movie, was a League of Shadows reject and a big part of the League of Shadows plan (see also: the first movie of the franchise) was about seeing themselves as a “Good of Society” Organization. And here’s where we have to a small, brief, explanation of the themes of Christopher Nolan’s Trilogy because the movies are certainly intended to be seen as one big story played out over three films. Al Ghul and the League of Shadows wanted to destroy Gotham… because it had sunk so deeply into the mire of criminality and corruption that he deemed Gotham could not be saved. Batman disagreed because Batman thought he could save Gotham. That’s the whole point of Film 1. Batman can save Gotham. Then the Imposters start showing up as well as the Joker and Two Face. Forcing Batman to consider His symbol COULD be corrupted. So what does a Bruce Wayne do? He has this knowledge that the city needs saving, but his attempt was corrupted, and Batman mostly stays hidden. Bruce himself largely stays hidden as we see when the third movie starts. Then Bane shows up. Bane is, in this film, the ultimate corruption of the Batman symbol. Here you have a masked vigilante bent on remaking Gotham into what he considers to be a better version of itself. One free of corruption because you slaughter the officials, installing yourself as King through Force. One free of deception because you expose the truth of Harvey Dent. One free of crime because you rule with an iron fist. So that movie ends with Batman liberating Gotham from Bane’s tyranny and retiring the Batman because he realizes Gotham needs to be saved, his symbols can be corrupted, and a man in a mask enforcing through violence may get results… but it isn’t the right way to do it. That’s Christopher Nolan’s Trilogy. A film about why Batman isn’t what Gotham needs. So… Mr. Thew says “Bane is the hero Gotham needed, but not the one it deserved.” But that is (like the movies themselves) getting so close but not quite. If, as Gordon quixotically said, Batman is the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now..... Bane was the villain Gotham needed, but not the one it deserves. Because “running a city acceptably” is a shitty way to judge someone’s success. If I put an explosive collar on everyone in a city and declared the penalty for every infraction of any rule is death? I have a good feeling after a few killings, people would follow the rules. That doesn’t make me, as the entry is titled “The Nicest Person”.

Item number three could be argued to be a Female Empowerment Piece because “look how the puppy killing fashionista supports her poor little worker.” Except… there are a lot of, I would say, misogynistic tones to this entry. Cruella assumes that “becoming rich, famous, and a brilliant designer” would be in Anita’s best interest. Because Cruella is a narcissist. To her, her lifestyle is the only acceptable one and anyone who could reach “her level” is being foolish if they pursue something else. Here’s a tough thing to ask: What if Anita’s lifelong dream was to be a mom? I’ve not seen the live action version of this film so I don’t know if this is ever addressed or not. But one of the things I see happening in Feminist Spheres of Influence is this sudden rejection that a woman COULD aspire to be a mom. And that is what Cruella is doing. “Darling, you shouldn’t get married, have a baby, start a family. You must stay in fashion! Use your talents to become rich, famous, and alone. Just like me!” That isn’t someone being nice. Yes, Cruella allowing Anita to spend more time at home and not firing her about having a baby could be seen as nice… and frankly, a lot of Real World Examples of “Pregnant so Fired” exist… but just because IRL is evil doesn’t make practical and intelligent suddenly “nice.” It just makes US more evil than the villains of stories about killing puppies. A pregnant woman SHOULD get more time to be at home… she’s creating a life, going through medical issues that might severely harm her body or the child’s (potentially)… yeah. There are a lot of reasons that are smart FOR THE EMPLOYER to give their employee time off. AND if the Employee can effectively work from home? It should be standard! All pregnant women who CAN work from home SHOULD get the option. But then… that kind of thinking labels me a “Liberal Progressive” and we’re right back to our IRL sometimes being more evil than our Children’s Movies about skinning almost 9 dozen puppies.

Full Disclosure: The ‘villain’ of Major League was Rachel Phelps played by Margaret Whitton who was Vera Prescott in The Secret To My Success starring Michael J. Fox. So no matter how “evil” she was going to be in Major League? I was still going to be incredibly physically attracted to her, lol. (I do love that movie.) Anyway, as to the argument that the Villain in “Major League” was actually totally nice by getting players recognition: The article makes SOME good points, but ignores other rules of Baseball. True. Mid-Season AFTER the players had already been hired, their stock would have gone up. But Baseball is one of the most tightly regulated sports unions in the United States. While some teams may have decided to cut some of their older, less successful players in order to hire Vaughn or Hayes or Cerrano, a lot of those Cleavland Indians aren’t going to stay in the Majors after Cleveland fires them. So suggesting that her plan is nice because 12% of the team might still have jobs? Dumb. Dumb and stupid. WHAT THIS ARTICLE SHOULD HAVE FOCUSED ON is the fact that Rachel Phelps invented Money Ball. She gathered the cheapest talent she could find and assembled a team capable of winning the Division Championship against the New York Yankees. The alternate ending to the movie (the ending the producers wanted but test audiences didn’t like) actually SAYS AS MUCH that her entire plan was MoneyBall.

I’ll put about as much time and energy into debunking the Last Action Hero claim as the writer did. Though, I must confess I enjoyed this movie as well. It had Sonya Blade in it! (1) The assumption is that the Universes the film worlds occupy are “real” but play by “movie rules”. There is support for this idea in the fact that, for example, cartoons exist as real people and carry out actions not previously seen in a specific film. (2) The writer assumes that supernatural abilities from other universes wouldn’t work but that supernatural vulnerabilities would. I think that’s where he goes wrong. He says, “Just shoot Freddy Krueger”… dude… if you shoot him in a dream, it is still a dream. And how would Freddy Krueger NOT stick to his typical M.O. of Nightmare Slaughter? Thing is… Jack Slater punches a glass window and IS hurt by it IRL. So, it is tough to say how abilities would work in the real world. But honestly? If Krueger can’t Nightmare Slaughter? Why bring him into our world anyway?

5 Better Versions Of Superheroes We’ll Hopefully Get Soon
5: Goodbye Iron Man, Hello Ironheart
4: Let Jane Foster Take Over As Thor (For At Least One Film)
3: There’s A Good Batman Comedy Out There (Without Bruce Wayne)
2: When Chris Evans Is Done, Bring In Miss America
1: Give Us An Empowering She-Hulk

(I’ll be quicker with this one.)

When news first broke about Riri Williams becoming Iron Man, I joined the group of fanboys who were upset. UNFORTUNATELY, that meant that my voice seemed drown out amongst all of the “Fuck SJW” excuses. People bitched that Riri was a teenager, they bitched that Riri was black, and they bitched that Riri was a female. NONE of that is logical argument. James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes (a black man) was Iron Man before. When Tony went to rehab due to his alcoholism, Rhodey acted as Iron Man in his stead. When Tony came back, he created the War Machine suit for his friend so that Rhodey didn’t have to just walk away from being a hero. ALSO Riri would not be the first female in an Iron Man suit. I keep wanting the movies to do this (but they likely won’t) but Pepper Potts has her own suit of armor dubbed RESCUE. And if you have issues with teenagers being super heroes, you need to stop reading comic books. So what was MY concern? Calling her Iron Man. She can “take over” for Tony… but putting a teenage girl into a suit of armor and calling her IRON MAN seems… disrespectful to her. So I was super happy when they officially announced that she would go by Ironheart. And with that, I agree that her getting her own movie would be a good idea.

Thor (Foster) was another one of those that, at press release, bothered the hell out of me. After all, whenever any OTHER character received the power of Mjolnir, they got their own name. Beta Ray Bill wasn’t “Thor”… he was Beta Ray Bill. When Thor was a frog, he wasn’t called Thor… they called him Throg (true story). So why was Girl Thor getting to just steal his name and identity?! That made me mad. Until it was revealed that this would be kind of an Elseworlds tale. This wasn’t Jane Foster replaces Thor and becomes Thor… this was Jane Foster, dying of cancer, takes up the helm of Thor as “The Goddess of Thunder” but whenever she changed back to Jane Foster, her cancer had spread more (because the magics counteracted chemotherapy). An interesting story and one that could surely be done well (provided they limited it to no more than 2 films).

Frankly, I’ve wanted to see a trilogy of “The Death of Batman”, “Battle for the Cowl”, and “Dick Grayson: Batman” for a while. Batman is a great character that they keep ALMOST doing well but then they suddenly get up their own asses. In a trilogy like this… you start up your own ass (Death of Batman), slowly make it into a big fun action movie (Battle for the Cowl) and end with a more comedic, light-hearted film (Dick Grayson: Batman). Besides… even though we all love Batman… the way they keep pushing him (and all other DCEU properties) to “go darker, be meaner, have less fun”.... I mean.. I think we’re all kind of over it.

I think the world NEEDS to see Miss America in a film but I am almost entirely certain that our world could NOT handle seeing Miss America right now!! She’s a Latina lesbian from another dimension who has two mommies. You think THAT movie could survive the “Fuck SJW” fury for long? Then take that fury and add it to “Oh, and she’s actually replacing Chris Evans and Captain America in the MCU”? My god, they’d lynch the poor woman playing Miss America before the movie even got released!

Lastly: I HAVE WANTED A WELL-WRITTEN SHE-HULK MOVIE FOR TWO DECADES! And, in the same spirit, I have wanted to see an MMA Female Fighter just beat the living shit out of David S. Goyer for the last 5 years. He once sad of She Hulk: ” if I’m going to be this geek who becomes the Hulk then let’s create a giant green porn star that only the Hulk could fuck.” Mr. Goyer was stating that She-Hulk is a “porn star created for the Hulk to fuck.” Except… (1) The Hulk and She-Hulk are related by blood. So no… and ew. (2) She-Hulk is incapable of returning to a Human Like form, whereas the Hulk can revert. (NOTE: This wasn’t always the case, so technically, they could still go with an earlier version of the character who can transform). This makes She Hulk a more tragic figure in some ways and allows her stories to be tinged with more controversy. (3) She-Hulk, despite remaining in Green Form permanently, is still a capable and intelligent ATTORNEY. That’s right, we’ve got a female attorney with super strength! The character is beautiful, not gonna lie. But as a Character, she’s a rich, complicated, unique character that exists aside from any connection she may have to the Hulk. In fact, of the two, I’ve always considered Jennifer Walters to be the more interesting character! So yeah… give her a movie!
