no one thing in poetry

when you finally accept that
we’re all just mostly water
you’ll be able to accept how
truly changeable we all are
we are none of us just one thing
we freeze and we steam
we sublimate, it happens
we are many each of us in one
we are teeming, we are legion
there is no one really real you
a billion drops in a stream
fractured into splinters in the winter
so much more than you can even dream
if under heat and pressure
you can sublimate sublime
ice transubstantiated water
whiskey distills from wine
it’s all just in the
atmosphere and time
