Tonight I felt disillusioned with a friend. I felt angry and used. I felt like I really needed a punching bag just to vent, but seeing as I have no punching bag, I turned to my guitar, which is exactly what everyone should do :) I jammed a little and improvised things. I came up with a melancholic little tune that says
When all that you have left is your song Sing it, my friend Cos whatever you think of time, it won't wait Your friends will disappear You'll be tightrope walking on a thread Pushed to and fro by the wind So if all that you have left is your song Sing it, my friend Never be afraid of your dreams And never be afraid To sing
How do you like that? :)
My doggy is going crazy, barking at something off in the distance that I cannot see in the dark. I'm not worried about it at all. I heard galloping, though I didn't know there were horses in the paddocks again. Nevermind. I just hope he settles soon. It's almost bedtime.
Pink Stilettos tomorrow night!!! Looking forward to it. I found a gorgeous dress today. Tried a few other dresses that looked really short and WERE really short. Too short. I've never gone for the too-short-look. One, I don't think it goes with my personality, two, I don't like the thought of risking showing my butt to the world just because I want to sit down or stretch or something, and three.... I don't have the thighs to show off in public anyway, lol! So anyway the dress I found is sort of knee-length at the front, and then longer at the sides and back. I love the flowy look it has, and it can be dressed right up with heels or dressed down for a slightly boho look. I LOVE versatile clothes!!! I love that this dress is so ME. I also found a headpiece that is pretty much the exact colour of my pink high heels, so that's a special bonus! I have never been to any event in this small town, so I have no idea how drunk anybody is going to get. Just curious.
Girls were disobedient as all hell this afternoon and whinged with every single one of my requests. I cracked right before their bedtime and gave them a big talk on how it's not just about making themselves happy, but others around them too. I like that M is at an age where she can really take this stuff in and I can see in her face that she is listening for the sake of learning, rather than listening to see what it means for her and her small world. I can see a huge effort on her part lately too, to do the right thing or to just try to live WELL - ie she won't eat unhealthy things, or she'll ask me if something is healthy for her before she eats it. I always tell her that eating too much of ANYTHING is unhealthy, but then there are certain things that I explain more about. The other day she outright asked me if a particular food item would get stuck in her intestines, which completely surprised and impressed me, considering she's under 6, but I answered honestly. I believe that when children ask questions, it's because they're ready for the answers. So yeah. She's my awesome girl. So creative, too. They did craft this afternoon and wow, the things she creates are just cute and thoughtful. (Eg using paddle pop sticks for tree trunks.) L is also growing up, too. We had a trip to Tamworth today, and she talked non-stop for ages. I asked for quiet time about halfway there because she had not stopped talking and I hadn't been able to get a word in edgeways and plus I was getting a slight headache, lol. But I could see that she really FEELS older, and she likes connecting concepts and repeating them and ending them with, "...that's right!" LOL. She keeps talking about how she's almost 3. She's so excited about her upcoming birthday. It's still 5 or 6 weeks away, lol. The other day we were playing I Spy at the bus-stop and M's letter was B. I said, Can I have a clue? and she said, Yep, it's in the glovebox. Next thing, L opened the glovebox and pretended to give me something in my hand. I said thank you and asked what it was. She replied, "A clue." LOL. Well I did ask if I could have one!!!!!!
In other news, my husband told me not to wear undies to bed tonight.
LOL.
He's been having naughty dreams about me, so I suppose tonight I might get a little somethin' somethin'
