everything must go in poetry

I call my underwear Sears because
no one goes in there anymore and
the people outside agree with me
that it’s a sad turn of events
but the sympathy does not extend to
folks trying to get in there again
might as well just give in already
open a Spirit Halloween every October
otherwise give up hope entirely, yeah?

I call my sex life Roebuck as well because
you don’t know what happened to Roebuck and
I don’t know what happened to Roebuck either
but it’s pretty obvious that Roebuck’s gone
he has been gone for a very very long time
at times I am surprised that I remember
Roebuck ever existed at all
