More inspections in Adventures in paradise

I’ve so far inspected 5 different places, all with pros and cons (that I can see). It’s kind of exciting but I get nervous before each inspection. The leasing agent today was lovely though and when I mentioned that I was going to inspect a place on Friday, she offered to show it to me then and there! So that was very kind of her. I still have another one I want to look at in that building on Friday as well, but at least one more is down. And it was gorgeous also! Like it overlooked the Brisbane Showgrounds. Hello free fireworks! It didn’t have a balcony however - it had a “juliette”, so to speak.
I’m pretty sure I’d be in the same building as Nick lives, which would be either okay or awkward as fuck lol. As the lady was leading me through the pool area, a guy in the pool with his mates yelled out, “You’ll love living here mate!”
Lolz. I figure he’d see people coming and going all the time, as three buildings all share the big pool area. It has a community hall as well with a pool table, big tv and gym. Building has NBN and it pet friendly. All big ticks. Thankfully both rooms today we’re much nicer than the first one I looked at a few weeks ago.
I also checked out two others in the new ‘Peppers’ building, which would be kinda cool given that’s my surname in German. They were both lovely but slightly over my current price range. If I go to more hours or get a second job next year, things would be different, but I don’t just yet unfortunately and I can’t get ahead of myself. The guy showing us those apartments was quite cute and had an ass that wouldn’t quit. Anyway, where was I?
I’m checking out a cute place in a quiet complex tomorrow in New Farm. A con is that it’s further from work, but certainly not impossible. I also think it might be furnished. However, it has a pool, a balcony and is also pet friendly. Would be a lot quieter than those huge buildings I’ve been looking at, and it’s also the least expensive I’ve seen. They added one inspection date this morning so I jumped at it the chance to at least view it tomorrow after work. I just hope they don’t change the viewing times like a lot of them tend to do. If it’s much earlier, I won’t be able to view it, but fingers crossed.
I’ve decided that after I view the other one on Friday, I think I’ll put an application in for the second one I viewed today, unless the Friday one is better. And if the New Farm one is good and there isn’t much competition for it, I may go for that as well. I mean, the worst that can happen is I’ll get rejected twice, right? Lol.
In other news, I’m now going to Tropical Fruits again for New Year’s Eve. Ergh. Why? Because it’s Peeta’s first time and he’s all excited, as he always is. It was the same at Mardi Gras. But after last year’s horrific experience with the car trouble and such, I’m quite offput by going. But Peeta’s adamant that it’ll be good as he’s driving this time and he’ll make it fun. When I asked if he wanted to bring a pool, he just said, “nah we’ll just join someone else!”
That kid is so social and I’ll be a nervous Nelly the whole time. Even though I’m the one who’s been twice before.
And remind you, I haven’t seen Peeta is like 10 months, and all of a sudden I’ll be sleeping in the back of his van on a mattress next to him. “There’s definitely room for you 😀” he says.
Interesting. Very kind of him. I feel like we’ll hook up, even though it’s very much a hook-up event. It’s the only event I know of in Australia that has a sex tent.
I have to work every weekend, so I’ll be catching a bus down after work on the 30th. I’ll have to start early to make the bus on time but that’s fine. I’m worried they may not let me in, because camp check-in closes at 6pm and my bus won’t arrive until well after 7pm. I sent an email this morning about it but got no response all day. I told Andrew and he said just to ring them. I’m an introvert, I don’t ring people unless absolutely necessary. I’ll gladly give my business every time to a company that offers an online way of ordering or booking services.
He said he’ll ring them tomorrow because he needs to ask something anyway. When I said I’d emailed, he scoffed and said, “It’s a bunch of lesbians organising it, as if they’re gonna get back to you via email.”
So he’ll let me know. I don’t want to book an extra night’s camping if I can’t even get in, you know? I might have proof I’ve paid but I won’t have the armband I need.
I had my second podiatrist appointment as well today. Look at me adulting! The podiatrist is great though. He turned the machine up to three times it’s recommended setting LOL. So he’s fried the living fuck out of my toenails. “Nothing’s going to survive that.” Ha!
And it was only $65 for the return session, which is what attracted me to that place. He measured the nails again and said the right one has improved but the left one (the real bad one) is only slightly improved, if at all. I knew that just from looking at it. He’s told me to use metholated spirits an hour before applying each week and do away with the filing, since my nails aren’t thick. So that was interesting information. I was only following the packets instructions. Still, a slight improvement is better than nothing at all.
I also found a website that delivers the impossible-to-get beer that Andrew likes that he can only get if he goes to Tasmania and ships it up himself. So I ordered a carton of 16 (for $81 including postage, mind you!) as like a thankyou for living where I am for such a long time. It won’t arrive until after the New Year though so I hope no-one swipes it from the front porch lol.
I think that’s all I wanted to say. I’m typing this at gym. Trying to get a quick workout in before bed. It feels good to be a bit busy, and I just hope I get approved somewhere half decent, as I’m not really that picky. I had a nice image today of me at the pound looking for a kitty if I get a pet-friendly place, which the places I’ve been looking at have been. A guy walked out of the lift with two doggies as I arrived.
