Me and Jay are having a New Windows Party. It was his mate Rob's idea, and who are we to turn down a party? He invited all his friends and I said I would invite all my friends from Loughborough, but not to worry about the number of people on the invite list as none of them would come anyway. I wish I'd placed a bet on that; every single one of them has turned down the invitation. Apart from Abi, who is a maybe; she's been the only constant since University. I moved away from Loughborough two and a half years ago and have invited them all to about five or six parties and not a single one of them has come to any of them. It's quite laughable and pathetic really; how did I get to age 32 and I don't have one single friend of my own? I have a bunch of acquaintances, but no actual friends. Look at Billy No Mates over there, no one will even travel 50 miles in the space of 2.5 years for a pesky little party.

We're supposed to be getting our carpet fitted today. Jay took the day off work and they said they would come and do it in the morning. When it got to 12pm, Jay called them to find out where they were and they told him they're fitting carpets in an entire house in the morning and will be with us "Sometime in the afternoon." If they knew they were doing a whole house, why did they tell us they would be with us in the morning?

It's now 3pm and there's still no sign of them. If they don't come today and Jay has to have another day off work, he can claim it back against them for loss of earnings. He should do anyway, he finishes work at 4:30pm on a Friday, so far he's wasted almost a full day. He can't even sit in the living room watching TV or anything as we've emptied the room in anticipation. Let's see if they turn up at all, bunch of time wasters. If they don't come, then we've got a whole weekend of no sofas and no TV.

On Wednesday my thumb suddenly swelled up to twice its size. It didn't change colour, temperature or texture, it was just massive and painful like I'd bashed it on something. I have no idea what I did and it was still the same yesterday. I was going to go to the walk in centre today but it's gone back to normal now. Bizarre.
Yeah this is a jolly entry...at least I can go home for the weekend in two hours. Whether or not we'll have a living room to relax in remains to be seen.
