Weather is working its way up the coast. We are in for some freezing rain, then just rain and wind until Saturday morning.

Tomorrow I get a new stove. Just in time because I have some cooking to do. The top burners have been failing one by one. And the oven has always been wonky.

Among many Christmas gifts to myself, I bought a pasta attachment to the stand mixer. So this year the Christmas eve lasagna will have not only have homemade marinara as the base to the meat sauce, but also homemade lasagna noodles made from one of the two two-pound bags of semolina flour sitting in my kitchen.

I am also making Italian garlic bread. I’ll have store bought back ups to the pasta and bread. No sense tempting fate.

Some time in the morning I will get a call from Michelle, my CT Surgeons’ nurse.

And we schedule.

I am still in a strange zen-state. I have no doubt but that on the day we drive south the Maine Med I will be in the need for some Lorazepam.

I already have my NETFLIX and Amazon prime Video playlists ready to go.
