always be skeptical but never be cynical
it's a razor's edge to walk but trust me
the cuts on your soles will be worth it
cynicism will just burn you out
but always be skeptical

the world is full of people
insane desperate greedy
prepared to exploit our desire
to be saved by the too good to be true
so instead embrace truth

chances are the truth will set you free
from the conmen and the fools
your feet can take the wounds
but never be cynical
the calluses just aren't worth it

love what you love
don't let anyone tell you any different
irony is for the birds
irony's for those too cool to commit to anything
irony’s for those afraid to risk their hearts
always be ready to risk your heart
you won't always win but when you do
it is worth it so love with gusto
love the hell out of it

provide aid and comfort to the weird
the normals have oodles of comfort and aid
they hoard it under their white picket fences
they just don't need it like we do
comfort and aid are precious to us
we who can't help but be something else
so make each other smile
lend each other hands, please
we the irregular have greater needs
and the system isn't built to provide it
but together we can do it

and don't be cynical
it doesn't suit you
you are too amazing
