I’m leaving this disclaimer for my sister because I know she reads these. My house had the stomach flu, do not read this entry. Its TMI anyway.

I have been off and on trying to write an entry for a few days now about everything thats been going on lately but I keep finding myself at a loss for words. Part of me wants to write about every detail and another part wants to hold those details close to me where no one else can see them… I still havent decided. Maybe I’ll write a private entry or something.

So much has happened. And I just dont know how to write about all of it… so I’ll write about this…

I contracted a head cold, cough, and stomach flu all in the same two day stretch… coupled with a 6am nosebleed.

Protector and I both came home after throwing up at work (L had it the night before and M had it two nights before that) and let me just tell you: you dont get much closer to someone than having them spend the entire day puking beside you. Thankfully I only threw up the two times… I spent half the day in the bathroom though.

I share the same emetophobia as my sister to a much lesser degree so this was a huge step for me.

It’s funny because despite feeling just as awful as he was, my instinct was to keep checking on him. “Are you okay? Do you need anything? Drink some water. Heres a paper towel. Do you want some ginger ale?” Etc. I kept finding myself wanting to run my fingers through his hair or rub his back. I guess mama bear out weighs fear of sick… if I’m already sick Haha. I guess I’m just trying to look to the bright side of a really awful day.

Things I’m thankful for despite having the stomach flu:
1.) Having a roommate willing to take care of me (us) despite knowing I was puking.
2.) Being okay enough to take care of a very sick Protector
3.) Only throwing up twice
4.) Watching Let Me In curled up beside each other after the worst of it had passed
5.) Bouncing back quickly.

Things don’t feel quite so heavy anymore. With December already being half over, I’m going to try to keep up the positivity and write little lists about what I’m grateful for.
