Project day part 1 in Second 1st

So plans for today. Mom and her husband are coming over to help with projects around the house we just haven’t been able to get to. It’s a decently short list.

1) The gate to our fence- We have attempted to fix this before. Rocky noticed that on one side of the gate a pole had a cut in it so we abandoned the whole thing thinking we needed to replace that pole too. That was more than 6 months ago.... so no cause I’m tired of looking at it. In all honesty I don’t know that we are going to fix it or if we are just going to take it down and store it. We don’t have any pets to keep fenced in. Aside from when we tried to keep those 2 dogs and find the owners we haven’t ever closed the gate in the 2 years we’ve had the house. We have a bag of parts to fix it with and put a coupling piece on a place where it has become disconnected. It looks trashy and I’m looking forward to getting it fixed.

2) Headlights- When we bought our cars this year we noticed that the lights weren’t all that bright. The headlights. Thinking about what we can do about that we bought a little kit for cleaning/waxing/protecting the headlights?.... I have a number of times not even been sure if they were on (most of my drive to and from work I have street lights) but it would be nice if I could tell.

3) Outside light- The side light (where the driveway is) just kinda faded and went out sometime over the summer. i can’t see the steps when I leave for work in the morning if I’m not holding out my cell phone. Tired of it. When we had that 25% off at WM after Thanksgiving we included a new light fixture (motion detect). I was talking to an almost electrician at work this week who said “Just remember, black is gold, white is silver. Should be no problem after that.” referring to the wires/screws in the junction box.

4) Handles- You may recall not long ago Rocky had said some of the doors need new handles and we had gone to ReStore to get a few .... wait … you may recall when I threw a back pillow at him ad told him to go get his own handles..... k so they have been in a bag since. Kinda pointless huh?

5) DISHWASHER- I mentioned it at Thanksgiving, how I’ve been using it as a drying rack because it doesn’t want to work. I would like to know once and for all if we should be looking for a replacement or if we can get it to work. David said he’d take a look when the project day comes up.... :) … so I scheduled one with mom.... lol

6) Attic boards - We haven’t bought these yet. If we manage the above I’d like the guys to take a trip in the truck to get some ply wood and get it cut. We were going to have Lowe’s cut it in half so we can get it up there and then move some of out storage things up there. That are currently being held in the back room.

IF we manage all that aside from before noon I’m taking them out for lunch. They could say Red Lobster and I’d be cool with it. Steak, right on. I don’t care, I’m so sick of these projects just laying around. There is a bag with Caulk and a caulking gun too.... I bet we got it for windows.... wonder if we will have time to do that.

Planned Chicken Alfredo for lunch and had planned Chile for dinner. However, I forgot to soak beans last night .... now I need to run to a store and see if I can find some no salt added/low sodium beans. (Edit: a quick check to make sure I had everything else and BAM I must have gotten some and forgot, what a pleasant surprise :)) Mom said they would be here around 9 so I should probably get out and do that (6:40 now). When I get back I’m going to assemble the Chile and lay out the project materials. This is going to be a highly productive day.

Rocky still plans on having D&D tonight and mom and David have to leave to be back when Joshua gets home from school. So I’ll have them for like 4 hours. Mom already suggested divide and conquer which was for sure the plan. David and Rocky on the Dishwasher and mom and I on Handles till it heats up a little outside. Then mom and I on fence and David and Rocky on light then headlights. I figure the fence will take longer. I hope there is no argument here. Like Rocky saying he wants to do the fence .... cause I’m not doing the light..... (fear of heights has gotten worse with the dizziness)

Welp, things aren’t going to do themselves.
