shows. book of mormon dreamgirls phantom. in 2018

so like i said we saw 3 shows. on our first day which was sat. we saw book of mormon. it was. i thought it would be funny but it wasn’t v. funny. i also don’t like that kindof humour. apparently. although some people would like that kindof humour. i wouldn’t recommend it at all actually. it was offensive and impolite and um. well it’s def. an adult show. omygod i felt like i saw a live sex show. yeah in the Hell dream part. one guy is performing um well. oral..........everyone’s clothed it was just. um. wow. i. ok then. it’s kindof how i felt when i saw my first prostitute. in amsterdam. in the district. [that was it i literally saw her.]. it - Book Of Mormon is by the guys who created South Park. the tv show not t he town. obvs.
but ya know. it was interesting to learn, about that religion and how it all started. I think people should, learn about different things. but the show’s not for everyone.
yeah so we saw Dreamgirls. We’ve seen it before actually. 2 yrs. ago and the first time we saw it one of the young ladies from ‘glee’ was in it. but not this time. but that’s ok. this actress was also quite good. that show. dreamgirls. is very cool. it’s warm and funny and sad. dreamgirls that is. kindof like Kinky Boots which. i was thinking we might see but as it had closed in new york recently i wasn’t sure. We saw it last yr. well based on recommendation. also i like cyndi lauper. i like the music. in dreamgirls.
and Phantom of course. that’s a classic. um..............they changed some of the blocking in the second act. i re-watched the movie last summer. it was ok. it was between les mis and phantom we’ve seen les mis before. and i decided on phantom. i just. relate more to him then uh. jean val jean. also for Phantom we’re closer to the stage. i think that theater might actually be smaller then the one les mis is performed in.
in the second act of Phantom. it’s just so sweet and lovely. that scene between him and Christine where she kisses him. it’s beautiful. i guess in some ways he’s, you know, corseted although not literally. and he’s giving in to her during that part. and she’s the one in the corset. so i think that’s interesting.
also another thing about phantom. is i’m a big fan of sideshow acts. old fashioned circuses as i’ve mentioned. and in some ways. he was, although not literal maybe. a sideshow act. ya know he’s not like everyone else.
it’s interesting bc. either that all actually happened. or she was on drugs. and that was her trip. or. you know. so like metaphorically the phantom. has the same hold an addiction does. he came out to her when he gave in to her. he was comfortable w/ her in a way. [he didn’t actually come out to her. No what i’m saying is. there was a hidden aspect of him that he showed, to her.].
