NoJoMo 28 Prompt 1: “Live and let die”, or ” You live for the fight when that’s all that you’ve got”?

NoJoMo 28 Answer 1: Frankly, I live by both and am glad for it.

Live and Let Die: everyone should live by their own code. Granted, I would PREFER their code to be one of kindness, empathy, understanding, and law abiding… but what can I say. This response comes from the concept of the song as “Live and Let Live” suggests ‘we can all get along and do our thing’ whereas “Live and Let Die” suggests the original subject of the song turned bitter and thought ‘fuck it all, I’ll do what I want and let the world burn around me.’

You Live for the fight when that’s all that you’ve got! Probably does fit me a bit better. The concept of struggling through life, taking each challenge, overcoming something and immediately looking for the next thing to overcome. Probably why I became a lawyer in a field that is (1) about fighting people and (2) literally never-ending. Because when you can’t MAKE the world a better place, but you keep fighting to try… you live for the fight cuz that’s all that you’ve got.

NoJoMo 28 Prompt 2: Have you ever been lost?

NoJoMo 28 Answer 2: Of course, I could try to do this like a deep “soulful” I have been lost in the valley of the shadow of death thing… but I’ll take it literally.

I’ve been lost A LOT. I suck with directions. The only place I can ever really master directionally is a dense Down Town Area. More proof that I’m a Big City, City Slicker, Grand Avenue type of guy. As opposed to Country Living, Farm Living, Main Street type of guy.

One time at the Holiday Festival Light of Trees, my cousin and I were chilling at the Kids Section when we looked up to see our parents had gone. Deciding that the departure of our parents meant we were now Lost Children, we went to go look for them. We wound up becoming actually lost at that point, lol.

One time I was going to walk from the Freshman High School building to a nearby veterinary hospital to interview for a job in the After Care department. It started to rain a bit so I took a shortcut through a field… during that shortcut, the rain whipped up to torrential tornado weather and the field became an ISLAND. I had to cross the spontaneous river to get to the other side and ducked into the Public Library to call the Vet to cancel and call my mom to come pick me up.

One time I was trying to take Buffy to a Renaissance Festival. I got entirely turned around and wound up no where NEAR the place. But I was near my grandparents. So we stopped there, they got to meet Buffy, and they gave us proper directions. She is the only woman I have ever dated to have met my grandmother.
