NoJoMo 16 — Lord Of the Rings in NoJoMo 2018

I read the trilogy for the first time in high school, around the time that Tolkein died. I was captivated by his creating languages, mythologies, an entire world. I loved the books, and reread them several times over the years.

They are still the benchmark by which I measure fantasy.

For my 16th birthday, my best friend, Laura, gave me the boxed set of paperbacks. I still have it, as you can see. She inscribed the inside cover. It’s dated Nov 12, 1973.
