Big Changes! in The Road Ahead

I haven’t written in too long. There’s a lot to put down, but not enough ambition to pour it all out. So they’ve been gathering in bits in my beard and stuck in my hair. I’ve been brushing them off my feet and rubbing them out of my eyes every morning. I should like to get back to them, a massive upheaval and upending of everything I’ve wanted to say, but haven’t.

But first, the most pressing new thing to happen…

I’m moving to California! I nearly gave it away in the title, but Big Changes! was much more clickbaity. But yes, California! Leaving Illinois (none too soon) after 7 years and looking to try out something a little different. So I’m packing up the wagon and heading west. My girlfriend asked me to move with her and I agreed. I love her to pieces and would have moved anywhere with her. Thankfully it’s a place I truly enjoyed while I was there and I’m hoping will be a better fit for me.

I just got back from a mini trip to Wisconsin and now I’m planning my farewell tour. I’ve done some traveling, but the Midwest has always called itself home for me. I’m nervous and anxious and brimming with trepidation, but of course there’s also the bubbly feeling of anticipation and longing for new places and people. Things are looking to be a bit more independent than they are currently, so it’ll be a change of pace in many ways. But that’s what life is, tweaking the settings on our Life TV. Sometimes it’s a small thing, like turning down the volume and other times, it’s plugging in a FireStick, and suddenly you’re tapped into a world of new possibilities and options.

I’ve got so much more to say, and I always promise I’ll be back, and maybe this time it’ll stick!
